Guest
When using the compass to get the degree of the front door is the north at the "top" when holding it or the south? I am confused on this part because some say south should be always at the top and others say north. which is it?Thank you very much.
Staff Cecil Lee Posted March 22, 2000 Staff Share Posted March 22, 2000 Dear Carrie,1. If one uses the ordinary compass, one should not be concerned about `holding' the compass at the North or South. What one needs to do is to take a compass reading from the centre-point of the house towards the main door. One should thus take the compass reading from the compass. 2. Your confusion will arise only if one uses the Chinese Luopan i.e. the compass needle is marked `from South to North' i.e. completely reversed from the ordinary compass. So the question asked is are you using a Chinese Luopan?1. If no, there is no longer an issue here.2. If you are using a Chinese Luopan, make sure you know how to use it first.Warmest Regards,Cecil Quote On 3/22/00 3:00:00 PM, Anonymous wrote:When using the compass to getthe degree of the front dooris the north at the "top" whenholding it or the south?
