Jocelyn yu
Dear Cecil/Robert,Before anything else, i think you have the most sophisticated feng shui website out there in terms of content and capabilities...I have just run the flying star report on our townhouse (being built)1)I have decided to use the garage door's orientation (45') since that is on the frontage of the house and faces the street. The builder unfortunately changed the orientation of the structures and our main door is now in a detrimental direction (SE) for both my husband and I (both West group people). My rationale for this a) is the garage is underneath our living/dining room thus is included in calculating the center of the floor b)we will use this 90% of the time to get out of the house c) my husband is a certified car nut and will undoubtedly consider the garage an active living space. Hope using the garage door's orientation is ok?2)I would also like to understand some of the findings:a) NW 8(base) and 1(yearly). Why is this considered auspicious when earth destroys water? is there no need to transform destructive to productive cycle?b) when do we use a destructive vs reductive element as a remedy? Example:NW 5(Mtn) vs 9 (Water), the recommendation is to use wood to destroy 5 earth whereas in N 3(base) vs. 5 (yearly), the recommendation is to use fire to weaken wood--why not metal to destroy it?3) Finally, i also have the pillars of destiny reports for both my husband and I (we are both strong earth according to your v.8 beta). How do i link this with the flying star report? Is it correct to interpret that if any of the flying star recommendations introduce an element detrimental to our personal elements (e.g. fire, earth), we should look to other ways to correcting this sector?ThanksJocelyn
Staff Cecil Lee Posted July 6, 2000 Staff Share Posted July 6, 2000 Dear Jocelyn,Please see below:- Quote Before anything else, i think you have the most sophisticated feng shuiwebsite out there in terms of content and capabilities... Thanks for your encouraging words. Quote I have just run the flying star report on our townhouse (being built)1)I have decided to use the garage door's orientation (45') since that ison the frontage of the house and faces the street. The builder unfortunatelychanged the orientation of the structures and our main door is now in adetrimental direction (SE) for both my husband and I (both West grouppeople). My rationale for thisa) is the garage is underneath our living/dining room thus is included incalculating the center of the floorb) we will use this 90% of the time to get out of the housec) my husband is a certified car nut and will undoubtedly consider thegarage an active living space. Hope using the garage door's orientation isok? Usually, by default, where your house has the door / house number that doorshould be the main door. However, in recent practices, many a times the maindoor may not be the door which most of the people use to go into the house, thus, as the owner or the person staying in that house, you do not encouragethe chi or luck if you do not use that door. Thus, in such cases, you shouldthen consider the use of the most frequently used door as the main door ofthe house. Also, usually, for those house owners which have two doors, they have anadditional advantage of having two door choice (or two house facing), thus, they can choose to activate the one which they are best suited or brings thebest luck.So in your case, it should be fine. Quote 2) I would also like to understand some of the findings:a) NW 8(base) and 1(yearly). Why is this considered auspicious when earthdestroys water? is there no need to transform destructive to productivecycle? Firstly both stars are good stars, secondly, if you look at it in the tendenties symbols. 8 is earth, and 1 which is water is the Wealth to (8), sodestroying 1 bring 8 star wealth. Thus, it is considered a auspicioussector. Also, that number any way often results in good combinationaleffects. If you wish to help these stars, you can apply Metal to induce thetriple combinations factor where Earth -> Metal -> Water. However, usually, our practice is to fix the problems sectors first, if you do that, it willautomatically bring you luck already. So not really necessary to add suchenhancers.Often, we find that if we suggest things like if you activate this starhere, by using this item etc. Everyone who read the report always focus ondoing such enhancement, and totally ignore the bad sectors. And if you donot fix the problem at the root, no amount of enhancements will help.Anyway, usually if the sectors are good, you usually do not need to doanything much. Quote b) when do we use a destructive vs reductive element as a remedy? Example:NW 5(Mtn) vs 9 (Water), the recommendation is to use wood to destroy 5 earthwhereas in N 3(base) vs. 5 (yearly), the recommendation is to use fire toweaken wood--why not metal to destroy it? Usually in the report, we only specify one element, so as not to confuseusers. Usually, the recommendation is made depending on the stars. It isusually the cure which is used to destroy the bad star without affecting thegood star.In the above you can also use Metal for 5 Earth (Mountain Star) vs 9 Fire(Water Star). However, the use of Wood, does two things here it helps todestroy the 5 Earth and also it helps to strengthen the good star 9 fire.Metal is also another cure you can use. However, it is not identifiedpartially because of the complexity of the multiple five element curessituation and many other complications. As for the other 3 Wood (Base Star) vs 5 Earth (Yearly Star). Here bothelement are bad, you can actually use Metal which helps to exhaust 5 anddestroy wood. However, since 3 Base Star holds a more serious or importantrole, our objective is to remove its base influence which affects the20-year period, while 5 yearly is an influence which comes in this yearonly. Also the 5 yearly is not as significant as 5 being Moutain or WaterStar. The Yearly simply helps tell you whether that for that year what kindof influence it brings.Meaning to say that if general the yearly star is a good star, that sectorsay for example is a good sector, will be great. If say a yearly star for abad star comes in, and that sector is a good sector, it means it is in aaverage good sector. Something like that.So usually the yearly star is like an indicator for how good that sector isfor that year. It's star although important, has less impact. Sometimes thestar can bring about good combinations or cover the missing elements whichyou are looking for. But remember it last only for that lunar year.Anyway, the use of the five element is very complicated, often there aremore than one type of cure which can be used. So in such cases, in order notto confuse the users, only one cure is suggested, often it deals more withthe problem star or sector. Quote 3) Finally, i also have the pillars of destiny reports for both my husbandand I (we are both strong earth according to your v.8 beta). How do i linkthis with the flying star report? Is it correct to interpret that if any ofthe flying star recommendations introduce an element detrimental to ourpersonal elements (e.g. fire, earth), we should look to other ways tocorrecting this sector? In most cases, what you need to be concerned with for the relation betweenthe flying star and your personal elements is often with the main door ofthe house (whether the house is suitable to the breadwinner or not). And thenext is where your bedroom are as you are often found in this room. Thus, the elements and cures you decide to use should not be your unfavourableelement or inavertantly activate your bad stars. In these case, you have toapply a little of balance. Some definate cures must be inplace, and if theyaffect you, you have to enhance yourself a little with your personalelements.Remember that every person say weak / strong person, has at least 2 goodelements and 2 bad elements, usually, you should be able to find a goodalternative cures which helps that sector and also does not create much harmto yourself.Warmest Regards,Cecil
