reginapan
Here is my dilemma:By boyfriend rearranged his bedroom furniture. The foot of the bed is directly in front of the mirror. According to Lillian Too, this is bad luck, because it may cause a third party to interfere in the relationship (as in boyfriend cheating on girlfriend). My boyfriend will not move it because he doesn't believe in Feng shui and said that the arrangement feels good to him. I've refused to sleep in that bedroom. At this point, what cures are available? Changing the furniture around is not an option, he won't do it. He's an engineer and wants scientific evidence!Help!!Regina
Staff Cecil Lee Posted July 18, 2000 Staff Share Posted July 18, 2000 Dear Regina,A mirror in the bedroom does not necessarily spell `bad luck'.The concern here is the belief that when goes to sleep, one's body may leave our body and may get a "fright" when it see's itself in the mirror. The above is the chief reason why, many FS practitioners discourage the placement of a mirror in the bedroom especially if it faces the bed.So far, the above does not necessarily spell bad luck.It is interesting to note that some of us feel uncomfortable (conscious or unconscious) about a mirror facing the bed while others have no reaction to it i.e. they do not feel anything. Thus, if your boyfriend feels strongly and find no issue with placing the mirror, then it is fine. Not everyone is `affected' by it. Your boyfriend is correct to say that there is currently no scientific evidence on this.Regards,Cecil Quote On 7/18/00 4:48:00 PM, Anonymous wrote:Here is my dilemma:By boyfriend rearranged hisbedroom furniture. Staff Cecil Lee Posted July 20, 2000 Staff Share Posted July 20, 2000 Dear John,This can be explained by:-31 July 2000 to 28 August 2000 is considered the `dreaded' Chinese 7thmonth.The Chinese seventh month is considered the month where hungry ghosts arelet out on earth to roam. Thus, during this month, many people avoid buyinga new house, moving house, buying a new car, opening a new business, leisuretravel. To applease the ghosts, offerings are given to the `ghosts'. Road shows arealso conducted e.g. makeshift tents are erected on empty lots or car parksin neighbourhoods. One purpose for this road show e.g. artists will singsongs and entertain both human guests and the purpose is also to entertainthe ghosts to keep them occupied from creating mischief.I am not sure if there is a coincidence but during the 7th month, I alwaysnoticed a higher significance of elderly death around my country andobiturary notices in the newspapers. (Not that I look at it everyday, do asampling.) I have not gathered any statistics on this so it is just apassing comment.Hope you can now have a better understanding of the nature of the ChineseSeventh month. Thus for me, I would also take the advise of your friends and to open thebusiness before 31 July 2000.Warmest Regards,Cecil----- Original Message -----From: "chinese-culture Listmanager" To: Sent: Friday, July 21, 2000 8:45 AMSubject: Open business before August 1 Quote From: "John Jacob" Hello there! My partners and I have planned to take over a restaurant business by=August 1 but I've been advised by some Chinese friends to open either?fore August 1 or after August 30. librasnake
As I understand it a mirror in the bedroom is also bad because of the energyflow it may reflect on to the bed while you are sleeping. This I have gotten from master Lam Kam Chuen?s books witch almost i my only source of feng shui knowledge. While the chi energy flow is hard to prove it exist its the closest to a scientific explanation i know (I look quite scientific on feng shui myself).
