Topcat
I am purchasing a new home, and it feels like a wonderful place, with the front door in an auspicious location, however, it has 2 sets of spiral stairs. The current owners have been quite prosperous, but I've been reading that these stairs are not good. What can I do to minimize their negative effect? You can't see them when you first walk in. Thanks for any help.Tracy
Staff Cecil Lee Posted August 7, 2000 Staff Share Posted August 7, 2000 Dear Tracy,In general, spiral staircases are best to be avoided. However, it also depends on the location. As you have briefly mentioned, that it cannot be seen directly... If it is not seen directly from the main entrance, this is a `plus' point.Overall, the spiral staircase has to be looked at in the context of the whole house and its location in relation to the layout plan. And based on situation.Warmest Regards,Cecil Quote On 8/7/00 7:56:00 PM, Anonymous wrote:I am purchasing a new home, and it feels like a wonderfulplace, with the front door inan auspicious location, however, it has 2 sets ofspiral stairs.
