iristang
Dear Cecil,I would like to seek your advise on water features/landscape. There are many offers on small water landscape for home nowadays and I would like to put one at my home.I have a private lift which leads directly to my house. When the lift door opens, we have a small lobby area in front of the lift and the main door is on the right side. If I put a small water landscape at this lobby area, it would be on the right side of my main door. I read in some feng shui that it is not good to put water landscape on the right side main door. (meaning, when I open my main door to go out, the right side is the water landscape). Please advise whether it is alright to put a water landscape at my lift lobby area? Thanks for your help.regards,IT
Staff Cecil Lee Posted August 27, 2000 Staff Share Posted August 27, 2000 Dear Anon,1. Usually, a Feng Shui consultant would first do an audit of the home and afterwards recommend the placement of a water position (if it is benefical).2. Other factors include, the breadwinners Ba Zhi or Eight Characters. If the person's element and strength is weak water or strong fire, based on his element, it would be advantages if such a person, has water in his home. However, if the person is a weak fire person, additional water would further exhaust him. Similarly if a person is a strong water person, he should not need more water as it would `weigh' down on him.3. In general, without taking into consideration the `caution' above, one can generally activate `water' at the frontage of a house. If the house is a landed property it should be at the frontage of the house.4. For your home it would be advantages to `find' :4.1 The frontage of the apartment4.2 The back of the home.5. After you have done this, you then check that your water fountain is at the frontage and not in the middle of the house.6. Usually for an apartment, the frontage need not necessarily be the main entrance but somewhere `bright' e.g. the balcony area. Thus if you have a balcony area plus the lobby of your private lift and they are situated closeby, you can still have a water position. But, if the lobby of the private lift is closer to the back of the house, then this is not that adviseable. It depends on your layout plan.7. It is a `practise' to avoid placing a water position on the right side of the door for the `fear' of one of the spouse having an affair.Overall, if you do not want to consider any of the above, if personally you or your family feels comfortable and `happy' with a water fountain at the lobby area, then, you can try it there.Warmest Regards,Cecil Quote On 8/23/00 1:26:00 AM, Anonymous wrote:Dear Cecil,I would like to seek youradvise on waterfeatures/landscape.
