jomagnani
Hi Cecil and Robert,Thank you so much for your very helpful advice last week on wealth symbols in my hallway near the main door.As a result of your advice, I hung the carp painting in the hallway on the left hand side of the main door, which happens to be the near the Southwest corner. What I wanted to know is if I can install a wall uplight next to the painting. I read in Lillian Too's book that it is good to keep a light on the hallway on all day to bring in the precious yang energy. My question is can I put this light next to the carp painting (symbolising water) or would this cause me problems. For example, in a kitchen if you put the cooker next to the sink this is inauspicious. I just want to keep all of the elements in the hallway near the main door to bring good effect (these are carp painting = water, wall uplight = fire, a small picture of mountain range (earth/metal), metal wind chimes = metal as my stairs point directly to main door and a wooden door frame = wood element. Would this be alright? My main door faces West and I am Strongest Metal East Group 1 Earth Boar.Hope you can advise me?Thanks you again for your great work and sound advice.Best RegardsJo
Administrator
Dear Jo,Frankly, currently I do not see any `harm' in installing a wall uplight nextto the painting based on `intuitive' Feng Shui. However, normally again thisshould not be a problem other than if you have done a Flying Star chart andfound that the sector is unfavourable or where `fire element' can do damageto that sector. Other than this consideration, it is acceptable to have theuplight. Please see below:------Original Message-----From: Listmanager To: Recipients of 'free-advice' suppressed suppressed>Date: Thursday, May 06, 1999 8:42 PMSubject: Is it OK to have a carp painting and a wall uplight beside eac h Quote From: Magnani Jo This message is sent from "free-advice" Mailing List.Hi Cecil and Robert,Thank you so much for your very helpful advice last week on wealthsymbols in my hallway near the main door.As a result of your advice, I hung the carp painting in the hallway onthe left hand side of the main door, which happens to be the near theSouthwest corner. What I wanted to know is if I can install a wall uplight next to thepainting. I read in Lillian Too's book that it is good to keep a light onthe hallway on all day to bring in the precious yang energy. In my opinion, it would not be necessary to turn on the light during the dayas in my opinion, there is already light and if I am not mistaken, naturallight is still the best.As for turning on the light at night, you can try it if you want... but domonitor your actions. I personally feel that such an action e.g. turning onthe lights has more to do with Chinese supersituous belief. For example, during eve Chinese New Year, I would turn on the lights in my home to"usher" in the New Year and this is suppose to bring good luck.Other than what I mentioned above, turning on the light is suppose toenhance the " Fire Element ". Some Feng Shui practioners go to the extendof identifying the type of light and its usefulness or effectiveness. Forexample, some feel that halogen lamp has more intensity than say aflourescent light. Would this be alright? Yes, I am glad that you are able to understand and apply the Five Elementsand at the same time understand the consequences of doing so. Quote My main door faces West and I am Strongest Metal East Group 1 Earth Boar. As your main door faces West and you are a strong Metal person, there isreally no harm for you to use the uplight for two reasons:-1. West is overall a Yin location.2. Fire destroys metal as you are a strong Metal person. (Water in thepainting has no effect on your personal element Metal).Overall, you can do with Fire but not necessary turning on lighting `24'hours a day. Other Fire elements even a simple pyramid crystal etc... arejust as effective.Warmest Regards,Cecil -->
