I am born in the year of Rooster. I have read from books that in order to enhance my luck, I should hang a 7-rod metal windchimes at the west for this and next year to increase the metal element for this section. However, could I place my real Chinese Stainless Steel Sword at this location to replace the windchimes as suggested?

Apologies, I am unable to comment as I do not have the full details of your information.

No, under Shapes and Form School of Feng Shui, unless one is going for `battle' or in an era, where, it is used for self defense, one should not place the steel sword.
This is because, objects such as this if displayed is considered `sha qi' or bad qi.
Warmest Regards,
Cecil
