Hi,
I remember some times back, I read a FS book (cannot remember which one) saying that in order to have the maximum power of a BaGua, we have to take the BaGua to have it 'eye' by some taoists priest or something like it. The book also said that if we brought a BaGua from the shop and hang it up, it serve no power. Is this true?

Dear Johnny,
1. A Ba Gua mirror is commonly used under two situations:-
1.1 With the hope that hanging it would ward off evil spirits.
1.2 Another common use is to place it facing a Sha Qi or poison arrow e.g. a main door facing e.g. a T junction.
2. If it is primarily used for the purpose of WARDING OF EVIL spirits, many FS practitioners would recommend: especially FS practitioners who have religious inclination would have the Ba Gua mirror blessed.
3. Some also place a charm (yellow paper charm) above the main door. Here, the practitioner would always recommend that the charm and the Ba Gua mirror be blessed.
4. Overseas especially, in the West, the Ba Gua mirror is more commonly used to `neutralise' Sha Qi. Thus in such a situation, less importance is placed on it being blessed.
5. For those in an Asian country, it is quite easy to approach e.g. a monk/priest to get it blessed.
6. For those in the west who perhaps, may use the Ba Gua mirror to ward off evil and do not have the services of a monk / priest could perhaps, say a prayer and then hang it up appropriately.
Warmest Regards,
Cecil
