Staff Robert Lee Posted May 16, 1999 Staff Share Posted May 16, 1999 Dear Joe,Please read below:------Original Message-----From: Listmanager To: Recipients of 'free-advice' suppressed suppressed>Date: Saturday, May 15, 1999 10:07 PMSubject: disagree with pillar report Quote From: "Joe Sehl" This message is sent from "free-advice" Mailing List.Dear Cecil or Robert,I received and studied my paid report for Pillars of Destiny of myself andthe Pillars for my spouse. We are confused and disagree with his element asdescribed in his report. It says he is a Strong Water but both of us feel he is more Strong Firesimply b/c of his personality and physical characteristics. Are you again refering to the personality and physical characteristics fromyour knowledge of the "HarrietBeinfield's book _Between Heaven and Earth_ (describes the 5 elements andtypes of people, foods and Chinese medicine). " as well as your own personalintuition?I viewed you and your spouse data. Interesting I noticed that in yours youhad lots of water, which made you feel that you were water, but in fact youwere weak Fire. Which when your acupuncturist told you to increase yourfire, it was pretty good as you were weak in Fire due to the many waterelement in your life. Which happens to be correct because it was indeedhelping your weak Fire, and not what you had assumed as Water element. As for your spouse, there are initally also 3 fire, but after combinationshad taken place you only had 2 fire left. In fact your spouse had 4 metal, 2water, & 2 fire. Metal further strengthens the water, making your spouse aStrong Water. For Strong Water, Wood is a good exhausion, or Fire is a goodcontrolling element for reducing the metal in your spouse data.So far I noticed that your intuition has been pretty accurate in determiningthe most suitable element for yourself and your spouse. However, a person'sintuition may not be able to differentiate a person's true element.Secondly, I have no idea what the book which you have read has mentioned interms of how they use element to determine your personal characteristics orpersonality. So far in the current pillars version, these analysis are notincluded, simply because, a person's personality, can be pretty complex todetermine as it changes throughout a person's development, education etc. Thus, it may not be accurate to use Pillar's Heavenly given luck and chartsto provide such analysis. Instead, many a times, using additional chineseastrology, Three Lives (San Shi) or Chinese Numerology, Palmistry or FaceReading theory is often more accurate as it takes into account otherinfluence not seen by Pillars. So because of that, what I believe is that your intuition has already helpyou to determine the elements which you should use to help your own elementsin order to benefit from it. I personally do not see much of a conflict, except that, you are now more aware of the actual element which you are bornwith, thus allowing you to further fine tune the cures and charts to yourlife.Pillars alows you to know the true element such as weak Fire for yourselfand strong water for your spouse. These can be pretty different if they wereinstead strong Fire or weak water. For yourself, Water is pretty strongmaking your Fire weak, while Strong Water in your spouse, makes is necessaryto use Wood to exhuast or Fire to control.Hope that helps to resolve your conflicts in your personal intuition and thetrue elements.Warmest RegardsRobert Lee Quote I have followed the discussion of the Left and Right Brain theory inDiscussion forum, and I notice that I too am very Yin and intuitive. My intuition tells methat my spouse is Fire. What insight do you have into my dilemma? As faras we know, the correct birth data was entered. Please understand that I'm not implying that your calculations were wrongor misleading. As far as I know, they are correct, but we just wonder how to resolve theconflict.Thank you.--Joe
Staff Robert Lee Posted May 16, 1999 Staff Share Posted May 16, 1999 Hi EveryoneL and R Theory of Feng Shui,There has been some confusion on the `accuracy' of the Pillars of Destiny.Let me elaborate:-The Pillars of Destiny has a few parts:-1. It can determine the True Element of a person e.g. Strong Fire Element.2. You can cross reference the period in which your element. For example, ina particular period, what is the strength of the element for the period anddoes it have any effect on you. For example, if you are a strong woodelement person, if 1999 has a season of strong fire, this is consideredinauspicious. If you have a Pillars of Destiny done for you, you can thenunderstand this and better control your `environment' i.e. further reduceyourstrong fire element.3. The third part of Feng Shui is based on Fortune telling and divinitymethods. Even the number of Yin and Yang in your pillars may not be true foryou if you look at your own chart. Why is it that I have 6 Yin elements and 2 Yang elements yet I prefermathematics, calculations? Here, you should be clear about one thing:-When we were born, our element and its strength will NEVER change. E.g. ifyou are a Strong Fire element, you are always for Feng Shui purposes, aStrong Fire element. Here you will understand why we always use the above for Feng Shui toanalyse your element and its strength in relation to your individual, home, office etc...However, why is it that I have 6 Yin and 2 yang but love maths instead?Pillars of Destiny provide us with an understanding or CAUTION that one'spillars can be changed for example through education, up-bringing, usefulexperience and people you contact with, Feng Shui of your physicalenvironment etc...For example, an intelligent parent may read through certain books on how toincrease their child's skills development. If the parent is able to make thelearning interesting or to stiumulate the child's learning, for example, inthe area of mathematics, although the child have 6 Yin and 2 Yang, this canslowly be influenced. Therefore, today, if the child has his Pillars of Destiny analysed, it begto differ from what he is good at.I hope you will now begin to understand why when I first `experimented' withthe L and R Theory, I have two parts to it.Part 1. I believe that at your age (grown up age) of at least completedyour `studies' or to be precise, have gone to work, you can see if you aremore inclined towards the "spatial" i.e. if you are a white collar worker Igave the earlier example that in presentations, you prefer to use wherepossible diagrams or illustrations or icons together with words to expressyourself. A more Yang person would like to express themselves using onlywords.Part 2. This is where, I asked you to count how many Yin and Yang elementsyou have. I have earlier in my note on the L and R Theory is that I am justtrying see `how true' this is.I strongly believe that this can be changed. From current feedback, Ibelieve that this `Part 2' is not accurate based on what I mentioned earlierie. it can be changed through a person's education and upbringing etc...But I still strongly believe that the L and R Theory holds true under " Part1".Therefore, I apologise if it may make some of us becoming confused as to ifone part of the Pillars of Destiny is " inaccurate " doubt the rest of thePillars of Destiny.Hope you have understood what I am trying to say as most users will knowGeomancy.net has always focused on the Feng Shui aspects of using Pillars ofDestiny. Two areas in Pillars which normally does not change is your True Element andLuck Pillars. These are born with you and will remain as your own personalinfluences throughout your life. Knowing these two influence, you can applyFeng Shui to bring out the best in your life and reduce any unfavaourableinfluence which may have disasterous effects on you.Other Fortune Telling areas such as characteristics, wealth are just foryour interest if they are added into the analysis, as these have always beenwhat many are looking for. But these information is often no longer accuratein our modern society as the many external influences can now alter thesedeficiency in your birth "characteristics".Warmest RegardsCecil Quote Thus, it may not be accurate to use Pillar's Heavenly given luck and chartsto provide such analysis. Instead, many a times, using additional chineseastrology, Three Lives (San Shi) or Chinese Numerology, Palmistry or FaceReading theory is often more accurate as it takes into account otherinfluence not seen by Pillars.
