mksay
Dear Cecil and Robert,I gathered from Geomancy-online that you are arranging with a reputable U to offer the FS courses.Does that eventually lead to a complete Degree in Feng Shui?Is that sufficient enough to get one started to be a FS practitioner?I believe that experience is essential to the FS profession. Is it possible to arrange for some field trips to live sites, after learning all the theories and computation methods?Does Geomancy-U help to offer career opportunities to the graduates?brgd,Rose
Administrator
Dear Rose,Please see below:------Original Message-----From: Listmanager To: Recipients of 'feng-shui-business' suppressed 'feng-shui-business' suppressed>Date: Monday, May 17, 1999 12:11 PMSubject: Feng Shui Courses on Geomancy Online Quote From: "Rose Say" This message is sent from "feng-shui-business" Mailing List.Dear Cecil and Robert,I gathered from Geomancy-online that you are arranging with a reputable Uto offer the FS courses. No, if you read properly, we are working with the University to offer FScourses as a subject in their degree. For example in a Masters ofInternational Business as an `elective' subject. Quote Does that eventually lead to a complete Degree in Feng Shui? If we are offering a Degree in Feng Shui, at the current moment, it would beoffered from Geomancy University. Maybe, later on but no promises here as afew Universites are keen to participate in our programme. Therefore nopromises here yet.Eventually we will offer a Degree in Feng Shui. Quote Is that sufficient enough to get one started to be a FS practitioner?I believe that experience is essential to the FS profession. Is itpossible to arrange for some field trips to live sites, after learning allthe theories and computation methods? I agree with you. Field work is essential here. Presently, this is stillfeasible as students can do field work and this would be considered in theirassessment for their paper qualifications. There are many Distance Learningprogrammes that allows the student to obtain a degree and we will make useof all available `teaching' and `field work' techniques when we devise ourcourse structure. Our main aim is to `produce' a well-rounded thinking graduate who is highlysought after and respected. Quote Does Geomancy-U help to offer career opportunities to the graduates? Currently we have many students taking our courses all over the world e.g.from US, Europe, South America, Africa, India and the Far East. Careeropportunities would depend on how Feng Shui is seen from the `consumers' ofeach country. For those residing in the US and South America, the prospects are goodbecause FS is well received in many areas.Frankly, even in the Far East, Feng Shui practioners do not call theircompanies : ABC Feng Shui etc.. but rather ABC Geomancy Services, XYZGeomancy Services. The reason for this is simple, in the Far East, a Feng Shui practionercannot rely solely on Feng Shui assessments for their bread and butter. Inorder for them to survive, they need to cater to as large segment of thepopulation as possible. For example " from birth to death ".For example, these Geomancers will do consultations to find a good name fora new born; do their Pillars of destiny; other areas include Feng Shui home/ office audits, divinty readings e.g. Face and palm reading and older FengShui Masters also do assessment of burial sites. Therefore, if you see the above reason or logic, even in the East, Feng Shuipractioners cannot survive on Feng Shui alone. They would have to survive on " Geomancy " i.e. Feng Shui, Pillars ofDestiny, Chinese Astrology, Face and palm reading etc..This is why some Feng Shui practioners in the West, I believe not onlycharge their clients for the Feng Shui assessment but also add hidden costse.g. bring along windchimes, portable fountains etc... in the hope ofselling more. This is why you notice Geomancy.net does not use the term " Feng Shui " aswe will also be covering all aspects of Geomancy in the near future.Warmest Regards,Cecil Lee -->
