Before I selected my flat I consulted a FS practitioner who said I can have any flat with my main door facing SE. Now I've moved in and another practitioner told me that the main entrance is suitable for my husband but the #2 star is there and #5 is in the master bedroom. The 1st practitioner said he doesn't use the flying star. So whom am I to believe and how am I going to cure these 2 bad stars. Is hanging a string of 6 coins enough? How not to activate these 2 stars?

Hi,
Generally, the 1st practitioner you seek seems to be using Eight House Theory, where he only focus on the suitability of the Breadwinner (your husband) to the house itself.
There are actually 4 directions which the breadwinner can choose to have houses which still falls in the good direction. This is based solely on the Eight House theory.
You can make use of the free Eight House Theory report on the My FengShui website to find out which are the 4 good and 4 bad direction based on your Husband's Date of Birth.
The 2nd Practitioner seems to have used both the Eight House and Flying Star to analyse the house for you.
Here it is important to have:-
1. The house has to be rather suitable to your husband, meaning to say that so long as it falls into any of the 4 good sector of the breadwinner, that is fine. That means that the house will suit you.
2. The other issue about the Eight House is also to find a master bedroom which suits the breadwinner.
Next is to ensure that there are suitable bedrooms for all other family members staying in the house.
You can check this with the Free Eight House or Free Group Analysis report on the website.
3. The other important factor after finding a house which is suitable is hopefully to find a suitable house with also a good combinations of starts in the main door.
Based on what you mentioned, it would seems that although you may have selected a suitable house to your husband, but you have not taken into account the flying star of the house when you first selected it.
As mentioned there are 4 suitable directions of the house and each direction there are 3 sub-sectors eg. SW there are SW1, SW2, SW3. A 45 degree divison.
So apparently the current house may be suitable to your husband, but the main door is NOT the best that you can get. This means that you will NOT get a great leap of improvement financial from this house, as compared to a house which is suitable to you can contain good flying star reading of the main door and the bedroom.
Based on the details you have provided, since there are star 2 & 5 and not knowing the other stars in that sector, Metal is the cure for the star 2 as they represent Strong Earth.
The most common and effective cure is to use the 6 coins tied with a red string, since you are in Singapore, another alternative is to put 6 $1 coin (which is bagua shaped if you noticed), onto a red packet paper and hang it above the door somewhere visible.
Simply to not activate the bad stars, you just have to avoid having that sector painted (yellow or any shades of yellow), plus to have strong amounts of earth related properties (eg. colour, shape etc).
You can make use of the Free Flying Star report in the My FengShui website to verify if the 2nd practitioner's calculation of the Flying Star of your home is correct.
Besides just focusing on only the point that one of the star is 2 or 5, you need to make sure that the combinations of effects by the various stars makes that sector good or bad. Otherwise, only a single star does not make the sector necessarily bad.
Since you already have the house, you should fix up any and all problem sectors based on the Flying Star of the house, and then try to locate your various family members into suitable rooms based on the Eight House.
If you can do that, you can at least make sure that you get the best of your current house.
BTW, besides just the Flying Star and Eight House, it is equally important to check out the shapes and forms of the exterior factors in your home and also any internal poison arrows and other Shapes and Form principles.
Feng Shui is not just solely about the Eight House and Flying Star which are just one section of the Traditional Compass School techniques. You also have the important Shapes and Forms factors, and the other Pillars of Destiny personal element which are equally important.
You will benefit most when you get an all rounded reading of the house from your personal suitability (Eight House), Personal elements (Pillars of Destiny), Birth Chart of the House (Flying Star), and Shapes and Forms feature of your estate or land area.
Warmest Regards
Robert Lee

Dear Anon,
One observation in Singapore is that there are still many Geomancers; many only familiar with Eight House Theory and practising FS.
Some of these practitioners started FS business as a novice, finding the simplicity of Eight House and have not upgraded themselves in their " FS careers ".
Hopefully, they should compensate this with good Shapes and Form FS.
The main worry about applying only Eight House or Flying Star is that these two theories should not be used in isolation.
Many a times, one who only favours numerology i.e. Flying Star; may overlook the Shapes and Form. It is of no great value if it sounds nice on paper i.e. the stars looks great but everyting else outside the house is a `disaster' i.e. the site is lousy, the house has many threats....
With the advent of the internet, many of us, may even be more well versed than a local practitioner.
We all can learn an important lesson here: " Learning never ends " and we must constantly have an open mind.
Apply concepts or theories that have worked for many people and throw out those that have the list chance of success. (Here, this is no easy task... but one has to be patient and learn from many others).
Warmest Regards,
Cecil
