leslye
I have spent some time looking through your archives and one thing stands out for me, that is, if one lives in an unconventional or bachelor apartment setting Feng Shui does not work well. This means that a whole segment of the population is cut off from making improvements in their life situation. Is it true that only people who live in houses or large apartments can benefit from applying Feng Shui cures and principles to their dwellings and lives? Is there a book for the rest of us who are not fortunate enough to live in large spaces but would like to improve the quality of our lives using these principles? Can Feng Shui be applied to unconventional floor plans such as trailers, boats and other differently organized settings? It would be nice to know that I am not engaging in a pointless exercise due to my reduced circumstances.Thank you
Staff Cecil Lee Posted May 27, 2001 Staff Share Posted May 27, 2001 Dear Mogford,In my opinion, if one considers a small apartment i.e. studio / bachelor's apartment:1. Usually, the Feng Shui of the building and site should be considered. As this has the greatest influence on the unit i.e. or small apartment. 2. It is difficult to apply Feng Shui concepts especially the Flying Star and even the Eight House theory especially since the apartment is small. However, these concepts can be applied but as mentioned under Para 1; in my opinion, it is still best to relate it to the entire building.3. One has to remember that majority of times, Feng Shui is applied to a large area and is used to find a city.4. Under micro Feng Shui, it is the general `wealth' or wealth accumulation that one looks at a site or building. 5. It is best therefore, that small apartments should be sited in e.g. a building that may have `good' Feng Shui. Here it is much easier to analyse the building ... as opposed to a small apartment where nearly everything is close-by.6. In my opinion, it is difficult of find "geniuine" books (or if any) on the topic of trailers or boats. It is my belief that even in ancient Chinese texts, there are no books on these. For books on boats or warfare.. one could perhaps look at the book by Sun Tzu - Ancient Art of War. One of it's principles also i.e. in attack or defence is related to Feng Shui.7. One has to look at it this way: Book Authors should not try to create books from `thin' air just to comfort those who live in trailers or boats. This would most likely be a marketing ploy.
