myfs_63779
We are in the process of buying a newly built house which seems to have a perfect enviornment. At first, I thought the housewas perfect too. But in trying to do Feng Shuion it, I have encountered these problems; The Front door (facing East) opens into aliving room which juts out from the mainbody of the house. If you only measure theliving room, it is slightly under 1/2 thelength on the house. If you add the frontporch with the front door in it, the size ofthis "addition" becomes larger than 1/2 of the house. Is this an addition (facing the North), or is it part of the house with corners missing??Also, the long wall of the house faces South, and the lower ground. This would be good except that there is very little ground to both the South and the North of the house asit is in a "housing development", and so thereare houses in both directions. The front doorfaces East, and the street. The house is pretty much centered on the lot it is on, butbehind the house (West), beyond the back fence, the land slopes down to a beautifulpark. There is a small stream further past the park, running East to West. The East (front door) side of the house doesface the proper higher ground which gently wraps around the North side of the lot, and down the West side, like an arm chair. Staff Cecil Lee Posted June 20, 2001 Staff Share Posted June 20, 2001 Dear Theresa,It would be good if you can provide a `sketch' and send as an attachment to this forum for me to take a look at it. As mentioned, it would be best to provide a sketch (in proportion) as it is difficult for me to comment on the above. Quote Also, the long wall of thehouse faces South, and the lower ground. I am not too clear on this. There is a small streamfurther past the park, runningEast to West. Determining the frontage of the house is important here. Some houses, may have the frontage facing the `back' of the house.Usually, if this is the back of the house, it is best to have a wall or fence (bushes) to protect the back of the home. It would be good to have the house protected on each side and particularly advantages if it can be like a horseshoe effect.Warmest Regards,Cecil
