Staff Cecil Lee Posted June 28, 2001 Staff Share Posted June 28, 2001 Dear Barbara,I believe many of us are in the same situation as yours "exactly opposites".What is more important is to:1. Understand the purpose / objective of each concept and what is can or cannot do. For example, under the Eight House Theory:-1.1. It can be used in general to find out how suitable a house is to the "breadwinner."1.2. Other than this, there is not much one can do; if e.g. North = death or health. If the bed is located here; perhaps, you can sleep closer to the North while your husband sleeps further away from the North direction. (He can be `shielded' by you).2. The depth of application of Traditional Feng Shui depends on your level of participation or non-participation. 3. For those who are interested in-depth Feng Shui could perhaps look at the following:-3.1 Pillars of DestinyKnowing one's element and strength. For example not only whether one is earth or fire but i.e. either strong or weak element. Here, there are three uses of this concept:- With knowledge of your element and strength and spouse or family members one can find out the `binding' element. This binding element e.g. can be used to plan for the interior design of the bedroom or other locations family members spent time together. For example, if the binding element is `metal' for both of you, then, you can work towards eg. the type of colour of the walls / furniture in the room and in the living/dining room.- Your element and strength can then be related to the current season. For example, if the current `Luck period' is dominated by earth element and if you are already a strong earth person, then, it would be good to add metal in the present period.Flying StarHere, the birth chart of the house can be analysed to the lowest common denominator i.e. 5 elements. Each sector can be looked at: is this sector currently out of balanced? If so, a cure can be used here.4. The above are some of the concepts that are used in Traditional Feng Shui.As I mentioned, it is entirely up to an individual to either want to look into the use of the above or do not want to go into these concepts.5. Overall, in my opinion, one may still get away with all the points mentioned above; especially if the home has - namely have excellent Shapes and Forms.Warmest Regards,Cecil Quote On 6/26/2001 9:13:00 AM, Anonymous wrote:I have just begum to studyFeng Shui, and my partner andI are almost exactlyopposites!
