How to use Ba Gua Map with compass directions

I am a novice at studying the various schools of Feng Shui. I am confused about how to use the compass directions with the Ba Gua Map of my house. The front door of my house faces south. Since the direction, south, is at the top of the Ba Gua Octagon, my front door would be in the Fame section of the map, putting my Marriage section in my son's bedroom (southwest). Very bad! I have read in many Feng Shui books that the front door is the Career area. However, the Career area is also associated with the North direction. I am confused. How do I orient the 9 sections of the Ba Gua Map with my south-facing home?

Dear Marianne,
The fixed Ba Gua template was invented in the mind of one person. Please read the article on him:-

In traditional Feng Shui, it is advisable not to use fixed templates. There are two Compass School methods: Eight House and Flying Star.

Overall, I see that you are trying to apply the `fixed template' which is not practised in the East e.g. China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Far East countries like Malaysia and Singapore.
In my opinion, the `method' you had mentioned should not be used.
