Hi!
Am looking for advice Re: two different topics!
First: Lava! Is it considered fire? Is it considered Water? Am i thinking too hard about it? I brought some back from Iceland and want to display it in a place where it will be best utilised for its qualities if there are any at all?
I am 9/1/67 birth thanks for any ideas
Two: Mirrors. In my house there is what appears to be a long tunnel effect caused by the line of doorways that go thru my rooms from my front door and out thru the back windows- an expert suggested using mirrors to deflect the energy into the living space BUT then i read that mirrors do not hold the power that metal does - for metal is the true element? Any advice? I put small mirrors in my one doorway and a mirrored disco ball in another doorway - Neither are obtrusive
Thanks for any and all advice! :)

Dear Xtine,
Lava which has been cooled, should in my opinion not be considered any longer as `Fire element'. This is similiar to other materials that had cooled down. For example, ceramics which has been `fired' in a kiln, has cooled down. Ceramics is in my opinion considered as earth element.
The lava you spoke off, should be considered (in my opinion) earth element also. However, if it contains a high percentage of metal or metal oxide, then it could be considered as the metal element.
Another interesting to note is that even if it is considered as the earth element; in the past Chinese geology, each grain is inspected to find out what is the actual element. Example, if the grain is smooth and round, then it is considered of the metal element. If the grain is spiky, then it is considered as the fire element etc...

Usually, long corridors, is considered to have `fast' Qi and needs to be slowed down. It can sometimes be quite Yin (dark). And useful items or objects like potted plants on alternate side (provided there is sufficent space).
One may use mirrors or even disco ball if you want to. Metal element is one of the best elements to use as I mentioned in several forum messages that it is used as a cure for bad earth and bad metal element.

However, I am personally `worried' about the way you practise the use of the five elements especially if it does not have any relationship with the home/building such as the Flying Star of the home. This is because, one should check on each sector for any imbalances and sometimes, our application of certain elements may unduly make it `worse off'.
Warmest Regards,
Cecil
