Staff Cecil Lee Posted February 21, 2002 Staff Share Posted February 21, 2002 Dear Peck Wun,1. In my opinion there are several `degrees' of consideration of `auspicious dates'.2. In my opinion, it would be `nice to have' getting the key on an auspicious date - if we can try to do so.3. But more important dates are:-4. Dates for symbolic move in:-Here, prior to moving in we can choose a symbolic date to move in first:-- if we do not want to move into the house immediately - we can do a symbolic move-in.- if the 7th month is coming close but one has no choice but must absolutely move in in the 7th month. (For those who are not aware, the Chinese consider the 7th month inaupicious for moving or travelling. As this is the month -- the gates of hell is opened ...)5. Some have their rental lease expiring and do or `die' they must move out on 7th month. Then choose a symoblic date to move in first.6. For start of renovations - this is not compulsory but many people requests for auspicious date(s) to start the renovation.7. A `hidden' situation is that once you move in old furniture, this date is symbolically the move-in date. However, if we are bringing in change of clothes or other toiletries to clean the house - this is not normally considered a symbolic move.8. Therefore, it is `nice to have' an auspicious date for getting the keys. But in my opinion, this is not compulsory. More important is to select a good date to move-in.Warmest Regards,Cecil Quote On 2/20/2002 12:16:00 AM, Anonymous wrote:Hi,I will be going to HDB forcompletion on 06Apr02, meanthe seller will handover thekey to me on that day.Do I have to change the dateif 06Apr02 is not anauspicious date for me or weonly need to look atauspicious only for moving thehouse.Need your advise urgently.Thanks.Peck Wun

Staff Cecil Lee Posted February 25, 2002 Staff Share Posted February 25, 2002 Dear Peck Wun,Please see below:- Quote On 2/25/2002 11:26:11 PM, Anonymous wrote:Hi. Is it no good, what shall I do? If you want to, you can check out the Paid Auspicious date report at http://www.geomancy-online.com. Specific for analysing good dates for the breadwinner for which will recommend dates such as Very Auspicious, Auspicious, Average, Mixed blessings and to avoid. From the dates provided, you can plan dates for: start of renovation; symbolic move-in date and actual move-in date. Quote How exactly do I have to do for symbolic move in, if I have no old furniture? It is recommended that a "symbolic move-in" date be selected AFTER completion of renovations. It is ok if one does not have any `old furniture to bring in.'The purpose of having a symbolic move-in date is that it is then not so rush to move-in on a particular day.For example, if 4 March 2002 is considered a very auspicious or auspicious date for move-in. It is good to symbolically move-in on that day. In a next forum message, I will post you some of the `rituals' that are often used on that day. Or if you can try to search for past messages e.g. words like " salt , sugar or pineapple or coal ". To find out may be needed. Thus anytime after the symbolic move-in date, then one can bring in `old furniture'. There is therefore not compulsory to have a symbolic move if one does not need to do so. But go immediately for an auspicious date for the actual move-in. Quote Could symbolic move in done before the house renovation?
