myfs_77438
Hello Cecil,Outside my house, there is a big tree that slices my front door. This tree belongs to my neighbor accross the street. From what I've researched here, that's a poison arrow! and I need to hang a convex ba-gua mirror above my front door to counter this poison arrow. What type of material should this bagua mirror be made out of? My front door is in the South (fire) sector of my house. According to the POD report, my birth element is weak water and my most favorable element is metal. My worst element is earth and 2nd worst is wood. The bagua mirrors I've seen in the market so far are either made wood or brass. The ones made of wood are either painted either brown or yellow. Which of these bagua mirror should I buy to hang above my front door?Thank you very much for your help.Hoa

Staff Cecil Lee Posted February 27, 2002 Staff Share Posted February 27, 2002 Dear Everyone,Overall, here are some guidelines on the Ba Gua mirror:-1. Plain Ba Gua mirrors that are either flat or convex. These are usually used to deflect Sha Qi. E.g. a flat where the main entrance door is in the direct path of a corridor and facing e.g. lift door etc...2. Ba Gua with the First Heaven Sequence trigram on it and a centre (flat mirror)You can refer to the "First Heaven Sequence" formation under this URL:http://www.geomancy.net/resources/art/art-pakua.htm3. This type of Ba Gua mirror is often used e.g. against a `T' junction.4. For those who especially engage a Feng Shui practitioner who has religious inclination, many of whom would recommend the Ba Gua mirror and placement of a " charm " or yellow piece of charm.5. Nowadays, from what I understand from Ben, who had purchased a `yellow' Ba Gua mirror and used it, the YELLOW on the Ba Gua usually connotates e.g. a charm.6. And after evaluating it, I feel that it can be used for both Sha Qi e.g. T junction and `to ward off evil'.7. There are other Ba gua mirrors: Such as those which includes the two door gods. It is more of a protective ba gua mirror.7. Please note that there are many Feng Shui practitioners especially those who practise in e.g. US, do not believe in the use of the Ba Gua mirror. Therefore, some of these practitioners may denouce what is said here (in the context) of the Ba Gua mirror.8. I am not exactly a `lover' of Ba Gua mirrors but in my opinion, especially mirrors can be used against `T-junction' and Sha Qi. For example, such as a neighbour directly opposite has a Thai worship alter that faces one's main entrance.Warmest Regards,Cecil Quote On 2/27/2002 8:02:00 PM, Anonymous wrote:Dear Everyone,If you can spare the time andeffort to purchase a Ba GuaMirror, take a picture of it;I will be eternally gratefulif you can share with us apicture of it.I can help to look at it andprovide comments on theiruseability. This would help greatly, thosewho are in need of purchasinga mirror. Staff Cecil Lee Posted February 28, 2002 Staff Share Posted February 28, 2002 Dear Hoa Luong,1. As a follow-up, this morning, I visited some local shops and purchased no less than 8 Ba Gua mirrors.2. I got 3 from one shop and another 5 more from another shop. I think, the second shop keeper must have thought that I was "MAD" since no one had purchased or tried purchasing that many Ba Guas on a single occasion in their life! (Including mine)3. Just for info, when I displayed so many Ba Gua mirrors to take photos at... my camera smart media "got error". For quite sometime. And for fear of being too Yang.. I covered them up immediately. Do not want to create so many negative Qi. Imagine 8 X Ba Gua mirrors is a rather " FIERCE " thing to do.4. Out of curiosity, I "tested" the shop keeper's knowledge or `advise' on what type to buy. Frankly, the two shop keepers, cannot really `recommend' the various type. And the first shop which I bought the concave mirror - could not explain the use of it. I quickly took the photos and kept them and store them away!I personally feel that those who sell the items should try to be more knowledgeable. Nevertheless, I have added the various pictures under the conferene "Photo Tours of Interest (with Pictures) conference.Feel free to login to the forum and view the three Parts i.e. Part I, II and III. Showing the different kinds of Ba Gua mirrors.Generally, all Ba Gua mirrors fall under one of the above categories. Please see below:- Quote On 2/27/2002 7:19:00 PM, Anonymous wrote:Hello Cecil,Outside my house, there is abig tree that slices my frontdoor. What type of materialshould this bagua mirror bemade out of? You can hang the Model A, B, C or D type of mirror (with either flat or convex type of mirror). Please check out the the Photo Tours conference as mentioned above to see a picture of the various basic traditional/modern models. The bagua mirrors I've seen inthe market so far are eithermade wood or brass. The onesmade of wood are eitherpainted either brown oryellow. Which of these baguamirror should I buy to hangabove my front door? As mentioned above, you can hang the Models A to D. As a last result you can hang models E to F (with the Fu dogs for protection) if you cannot really find the Models A to D.But I would recommend A to D types for you.For the CONCAVE type, I would not recommend. For me, if my clients really need to hang the CONCAVE type, I would need to be personally around to check and confirm if this type / the size to use. Else, don't use this type as it absorbs rather than deflect the mirrors.Warmest Regards,Cecil
