Hi, thanks again for advice. I have purchased red knotted string with 8 chinese coins attatched. Always thought 6 coins was enough. This is a beautiful piece but would like to know why 8 coins? I am weak water and use metal to enhance. Can you recommend placment? I am west person living in se house, but use ne door. Please advise. thank you very much. diane

Dear Diane,
In Chinese (dialect group - Cantonese) the numeral `Eight' sounds like " Fatt " which means "Prosper".
This is most likely the reason why some people sell it as a string of 8 Chinese coins.
For a Feng Shui cure, it is advised that the two extra coins be removed. Else the cure is not effective.
