Staff Cecil Lee Posted March 26, 2002 Staff Share Posted March 26, 2002 Dear Diane,In Chinese (dialect group - Cantonese) the numeral `Eight' sounds like " Fatt " which means "Prosper". This is most likely the reason why some people sell it as a string of 8 Chinese coins. For a Feng Shui cure, it is advised that the two extra coins be removed. Else the cure is not effective.Warmest Regards,Cecil Quote On 3/23/2002 7:15:00 AM, Anonymous wrote:Hi, thanks again for advice.I have purchased red knottedstring with 8 chinese coinsattatched.
