myfs_80388
My wife recently purchased a small (1 gallon) fish tank with three tropical fish. My question now is where to place the tank. Our main entrance faces the east and the living room is towards the north west with a large sliding window facing directly west. She had heard that if we place it in the "correct spot" it would bring fortune. Since I am in the process of finding a new job, she's hoping that it would help...I am not so sure. I was told that fish tanks are a tricky thing and that they should not be casually placed in the house, so now we need advice. As of now, the tank is placed in the north west corner of the living room, right next to the sliding window...we are both not sure if its a good place, so please help us out. If further information is needed about the layout of the house, I will be more than happy to provide it. Thanks. Jack
Staff Cecil Lee Posted March 27, 2002 Staff Share Posted March 27, 2002 Dear Jack,There are two ways to see the use of water in Feng Shui:-1. On a scientific basis, water positions is looked at in conjuction with Feng Shui theories : Shapes and Forms & Flying Star. In particular, under Flying Star, locations where metal elements have been detected, water can be used to enhance such "metal locations". Thus a combination of water with metal can help here.2. On a non-scientific basis, one would have to visualise locations one can place a fish tank at. Usually, since it is a tall object, it is placed along a wall. And in most homes in the living room area.3. Never place a fish tank at the centre location of a home. As this would affect family members health and finance of the owners.Warmest Regards,Cecil Quote On 3/26/2002 3:39:00 AM, Anonymous wrote:My wife recently purchased asmall (1 gallon) fish tankwith three tropical fish.
