I have very many books and I really do love most of them (some i suppose could be given away). I also have books beside my bed and in a storage room. The ones in your storage room are not a problem, but I would remove those from beside your bed or cover them at night.As for the ones in the hallway, perhaps you could put some small pot plants with trailing branches among the shelves to soften the sharpness or a couple in a pot on the ground to somewhat "hide" the shelves.Cecil can no doubt give you more info.
