Location of New Home

My new home is located on a 90 degree bend (through street) facing east with the front door facing south-east. The back of the house is facing the backyard of another house. There is no slope in my house. My concern is when car makes a right turn, it goes towards the direction of my house but the car has to make a left turn (quarter-circle turn). Is this bad feng shui?

Dear Maritza,
1. Yes, in Feng Shui, this may not be not so good.
2. To counter such effects, usually, it is always best to have a brick (red brick) fencing (acceptable with iron/wrought iron grilles) at the frontage of the house.
3. It also depends on the shape of your plot of land.
4. On the other hand, if your plot of land (from a top-down) view looks like a knife with handle, this will be to your advantage as you can take advantage of the Feng Shui to reap `wealth' at the expense of your neighbour.
It is best that if you can produce a sketch. I am not too sure if I got what you mentioned correctly. As such, I have drawn a sketch. To illustrate what is known as a `knife' plot.
This is similar to the Faber Crest Condominium project developed by City Development Corporation CDL. (some of the photos are shown under the Events - Feng Shui (CDL) talk and for the most recent Exxon-Mobil talk.

Dear Martiza,
Thanks for your sketch. It has given a totally different perspective of what I had originally thought of your layout plan.
It is great that you have provided the sketch. It is like one of those `text book' communication channel games. And, I totally missed your description.
I hope that it is not too much to ask:-
1. Can you mark the location of your main door.
2. The traffic flow direction of the cars
3. Describe more about fencing i.e. what type of fencing you have at the frontage.

Thanks you for your quick response. I've attached a new sketch to display the location of the front door as well as traffic flow. There is no front fencing except for basic landscaping, such as grass and flowers. I'm looking forward for your response.

2. Your main door seems to be protected or well away from the `Sha Qi' of the estate road. This is good.
3. Do you have windows that face road?

Hi Cecil,
Yes, the windows to the office/den is facing the road on the 1st floor. While the laundry room, guest bedroom and playroom all have windows facing the street. How do I protect them? Again, thanks for your quick response.

Dear Maritza,
More importantly, you need to protect the most vulnerable window. For example, this is where the movement of cars seem to come `towards' the windows.
Firstly adequate curtains at this location. Next, a row of plants parallel to the window. You may like to consider a Ba Gua mirror in the middle (above the window) for added protection.

In general, even in Faber Crest condo, it depends!

In all developments there are always the "good, bad and the ugly"...

There are always the good, the average and below average units...

Just like in a classroom...

Hi Master,

Faber Crest is near Ulu Pandan Reservoir and water is pretty stagnant not to mention the numerous mosquitos / MRT track is another concern.  Is MRT track a form of Sa Qi c/w the reservoir?

The other blocks facing the greenery are better units in view of Fengshui?
