myfs_88364
Where should my bed go?The bedroom is not in a rectangular shape because of an indentation where the closet is, (So therefore with the exception of the NW and W the bedroom door is not visible to the rest of the room) and the window takes up almost the entire SW wall, though there is slightly more wall area toward the more western side. The downside to the W corner is that just on the other side of the wall is the back door to the building, with people opening and slamming the door late at night and early in the morning. The other side of the wall is the main corridor of the first floor of the building. There isn't too much traffic, but it is noticable...hall.. _bdrm door |.......| |.......|CLOSET |.......|________NE___________bathrm door_ | N ............HERE?............. ......E| |........................................ | | ........................................| |........................................ | NW........................................|S |................................. here? .| |.........................................| |HERE?....................................| |.........................................| |...................here?.................| W________..............SW window....____S | My forunate directions are NE, NW, W, and SW. SE is my death direction. S is disaster. The room is very small, and the window is almost the entire length of the SW wall. There would be no space for room dividers or screens, although I would like to put a curtain of some sort (either beaded or some sheer fabric like chiffon) to cut off the odd shape of the bedroom door passage way to make the room a rectangular shape and soften that harsh wall corner. Keeping in mind that the bed will take up a considerable amount of space in the room (about 1/4 of total floor space- and I just have a small bed), if you were me- WHERE WOULD YOU PUT THE BED??? THANKS TO EVERYONE IN ADVANCE FOR THEIR HELP!
Staff Cecil Lee Posted January 8, 2003 Staff Share Posted January 8, 2003 Dear Stacey,1. The main disadvantage of an irregular room will be for marriage - especially for newly married couples.2. Base on your simple sketch, it seems that your room still looks rectangluar to me. The closet does not seem to be a major problem.3. For a bedroom, it is always best not to subdivide it i.e. making it too small as this can also affect marriage and harmony. Please see below:- Quote On 1/7/2003 9:26:00 AM, Anonymous wrote:Where should my bed go?The bedroom is not in arectangular shape because ofan indentation where thecloset is, (So therefore withthe exception of the NW and Wthe bedroom door is notvisible to the rest of theroom) and the window takes upalmost the entire SW wall, though there is slightly morewall area toward the morewestern side. Expand Feng Shui or earth luck is not a cure all. Sometimes, if we do not have a favourable room Feng Shui, we should increase more of our MAN luck.Man luck refers to:1. Positive thoughts and attitude2. Have funny and enjoy life to the fullest3. Get support from family and friends4. A sensible diet and exercise.Looks like the north wall seems a better choice. Do not place the bed against an open window.Warmest Regards,Cecil Lee
myfs_89231
Dear Cecil and Robert,I am having such difficulty with the placement of my furniture; especially the bedroom. taking compass direction seems to be difficult. This is because I've read that directions are measured by degrees. My questions are... Where do I place my bed? My auspicious directions are NORTHWEST, NORTHEAST, SOUTHWEST, and WEST. As I have tried to situate my bed. It is definitely impossible. Although I have a bedroom measurements of 11'- 4" X 14" - 6" I CAN'T SEEM TO GET THE PLACEMENT CORRECT. The WEST is a WALK IN CLOSET and the ENTRANCE to my BEDROOM. NORTHWEST is DIRECTLY BEHIND the DOOR. SOUTHWEST is the CORNER of the WALK-IN CLOSET, AND NORTHEAST is adjacent to the long EAST WINDOW. So the NORTHEAST sector is My NIEN YIEN corner. This corner has a PILLAR/PROTRUDING edge that hits the headboard directly. My bed is diagonally under the window and the air conditioner. The entrance of my bedroom door is across from the bed. which Would mean that the sha cuts directly into my bed.So what do I do? This is causing me restless nights since I moved my bed in this location. I read that to enhance my romance and relationship luck; This is the position my bed should be in. What can you suggest to help rearrange and enhance this dilemma? Relationships do not last very long.I've been alone too long. I don't want to think that the prospect of MARRIAGE is DIM. All my other location enhance directions need a great deal of improvement TOO! Money is so tight you can hear the eagle cry. I need serious help now badly. Please advice me on what I can do Please.Looking forward to receiving your replies. ASAP. I hope that this is an appropriate question.Sincerely,Kathie
