myfs_94413
My home is "east facing" with a short straight path to the front door, this opens directly into the lounge and there are another 4 doors directly in line that leads out to the back garden ie: front door, small lounge, glass door, tiny stair well with stairs leading off to the right, another glass door leading to another living area/Kitchen, a third glass door that leads to a narrow hallway with the bathroom to the right in the Hallway and the Back door leading out to the garden.I have recently bought "Woodstock" wind chimes, one that depicts "Earth" which I have in the back garden approx NW 300 degrees, the two smaller ones that I intend to hang in the house denote "Peace" and the other is "Energy". As I have only just recently become interested in Feng Shui and I am still trying to digest the History of the art as well as getting to understand and pronounce the Chinese words I do understand that I could put things in the wrong place and do more harm than good so I would be very grateful for your expert advice. With Kind RegardsDiane O'Hara
Staff Cecil Lee Posted July 13, 2003 Staff Share Posted July 13, 2003 Dear Diane,1. In my opinion, it is difficult to precisely say for sure whether the windchimes are or are not beneficial to you. Since often, compass school Feng Shui e.g. Flying Star is often used to determine if, a wind chime can be used beneficially or not.2. In addition, you had not mentioned the material these windchimes are made of. As this can play a part when combined with Para 1 to see a `bigger' picture.3. For now, one can often apply "intuition" or to call it crudely: "Trial and Error" Feng Shui.4. Please do a search in this forum to find out what I had written many years ago: The concept that I had coined " The Customer Engineer " concept. As this has a bearing on how best one should approach the "Trial and Error" Feng Shui.Warmest Regards,Cecil Quote On 7/12/2003 1:37:21 AM, Anonymous wrote:My home is "east facing" witha short straight path to thefront door, this opensdirectly into the lounge andthere are another 4 doorsdirectly in line that leadsout to the back garden ie:front door, small lounge, glassdoor, tiny stair well withstairs leading off to theright, another glass doorleading to another livingarea/Kitchen, a third glassdoor that leads to a narrowhallway with the bathroom tothe right in the Hallway andthe Back door leading out tothe garden.I have recentlybought "Woodstock" windchimes, one that depicts"Earth" which I have in theback garden approx NW 300degrees, the two smaller onesthat I intend to hang in thehouse denote "Peace" and theother is "Energy". Difficult to find the answer Isn't It.In Answer to what the windchimes are made of they are made of aluminum and are precision tuned by the individual tube being fed into a tuning station, where it is struck by a small mallet. A microphone measures the pitch of the tube and feeds this information into a computer and the computer instructs the automated cutters at each end of the tube how much material to remove to create a perfect note. seemingly this method is hundreds of times more sensitive than the human ear so that the chime is in perfect pitch!!! Does this really match up to the art of making windchimes when people handcrafted them years and years ago. Lets hope we get the same joy from them.thanking you once again Cecil for your time. I do appreciate the time and effort you have given me Many Many thanksDiane O'Hara
