myfs_95033
Cecil, I have a question about bed direction. My best direction is west/southwest, that's also the location of my bedroom in relation to the house. However, the door to the bedroom is in the northwest, so placing the bed in southwest corner of the bedroom places it in front of the door. Which in this case takes precedence, the "best direction" or the fact that it's not a good idea to place the bed in front of the door? many thanks! Staff Cecil Lee Posted August 5, 2003 Staff Share Posted August 5, 2003 Dear Anon, Quote it's not a good idea to placethe bed in front of the door? Yes, it is not advisable to do so.In my opinion, 1st priority goes to Shapes and Form Feng Shui. For the rest of the concepts ... they are "good or nice to have".Warmest Regards,Cecil Quote On 8/4/2003 10:11:36 AM, Anonymous wrote:Cecil, I have a question aboutbed direction. myfs_95033
Thank you, Cecil. I just wanted to verify that in this case the forms and shapes mean it's more important for the bed to be farther from the door, even if it means that it will be positioned in my unfavorable direction. Did I understand correctly? thanks. Staff Cecil Lee Posted August 19, 2003 Staff Share Posted August 19, 2003 Dear Anon,1. To the Chinese, it is inauspicious to have the legs facing outwards towards the bedroom door. This is often called the `coffin' position. (Where, traditionally, we bring out a dead person: legs first - head later out of a home.2. A bed need not be farther away from the door, but as mentioned, it is best not to face the door. (For privacy, it is preferred that we often do not want to sleep too close to the door.)Warmest Regards,Cecil Quote On 8/15/2003 10:33:02 AM, Anonymous wrote:Thank you, Cecil.
