Dear Anon,
Frankly, you are not the only one that would be facing this `problem'.
It is far better to have the desk face a door than facing away from the door. This often, is not advantages for the person working in this office: 1. cannot see who is coming in. 2. for some of us, may not feel comfortable with others looking in e.g. privacy issue if computer screen is in view of others. 3. symbolically inauspicious - seems like one is turning one's back against one's work etc...
For example, it would be quite odd for those with a room to have their back facing the door. (Unless, this area is a computer room or other shared room).
In most offices, one can easily place a low back row of cabinet behind one's table (to act as a support - if the back is entirely made of glass).
Warmest Regards,
Cecil

Thank you!
