Dear Master Lee,
We are building a house this year 2004 (8th cycle). Our Facing is Ping, and our Facing Palace has an Earth Base of 3 and a Facing Star of 7. I read in Ms. Eva Wong's book "Feng Shui" that this is a destructive combination (under Unconditional Interaction) resulting to "loss of fortunes through robbery or legal hassles", and " accidents that lead to injury or death".
Does this mean that such misfortune will affect the occupant in that area of the house? Or since it is the Facing Palace, does this apply to the condition of the house in general? It is very likely that our front door will be located here, does this make it worse?
Is there something I can do to cancel these destructive situation?
Thanking you for your kind attention

Dear Elizabeth,
Under Flying Star Feng Shui:
1. Yes, many Flying Star Feng Shui Schools, often (always) consider the "facing direction".
2. For example, it is often said that under Period 7, a frontage with double 7's are considered very auspicious homes. Similiarly, under
3. Period 6, double 6's are equally auspicious under that period.
4. Therefore, the facing stars have in-fact an overal idea of the type of qi influence on a home/building.
5. This is because, in my opinion; all Flying Star Feng Shui schools consider the "facing direction" as the mouth of the home/building.
6. Thus, like the saying goes " what we get is what we are". Thus, if the qi influence at the frontage is less than ideal, we may get afflicted by issues, described under that particular star influence.
7. As most of us have read, #7 can turn bad into theft/robbery star.
8. This is why, under Period 8, perhaps, if one has the liberty (or luxury) of finding a home, it is good if it has a double 8's at the facing or some other characteristics of a specific chart that can further make the home/building more auspicious.
9. For example, if a house is a NW1 Period 7 home. Here, it would be advatanges for this house to have water at the frontage and mountain support behind it.
10. But, say, the current home has blocked view at the frontage, but open space behind, then perhaps, it is better to change it to a NW1 Period 8 home. Where, this is particularly good if there is a mountain at the facing and water at the sitting position.

As mentioned, in the earlier paragraph, and in particular if the home futher does not suit the owners e.g. their death or disaster sectors, often, within 2 to 3 years, fortunes may sway.

This is akin to having a fractured arm - even before moving in.
Therefore, like taking an exam, it is best to score as much marks as possible in other sectors of the home.
Hopefully, the shapes and forms of a home, is OK. (Reasonable shapes and forms.)
But if there are added issues such as a toilet at the centrepoint, or at the frontage or any other problem areas, instead of a fractured arm, one may even be on a "wheel" chair environment on the move-in.
Frankly, the above is on the basis that everything seems to be "wrong" from a Feng Shui perspective.
Usually, a good FS Practitioner, would be able to, "check the odds" and as well as reduce or neutralise as many problems (if applicable).
As I mentioned, Shapes and Forms, should be reasonably OK.
On the perspective of Flying Star Feng Shui, there are several options, here:
1. Is it more favourable to retain existing Period (for an existing home)
2. For a new home: Is it more beneifical to Fly to the next period?
3. Alternatively, could the door be tilted to a more advantages direction.
For example, if one's main door is at North 2 Period 7. But, after a Flying Star assessment, this home seems to be better if the main door is tilted to N1 Period 8 etc...
If one is D.I.Y. this is fine. But, usually, a good FS practitioner should be able to give alternatives to their clients. And for the clients to weigh the options, themselves.
Warmest Regards,
Cecil
