myfs_77111
Hi,We just bought a premium 5-room flat (top floor) at Woodlands Dr 75.Our flat's main door and gate is indirectly facing the common staircase, as well as some pipings. I heard that it is considered not auspicious to have the main door facing staircase. What can we do to remedy it? We cannot shift the main door as, no matter what we will still be able to see the stairs. Please advise. Thanks!regards,Betty
Staff Cecil Lee Posted February 4, 2004 Staff Share Posted February 4, 2004 Dear Anon,Usually your premium flat comes with a beautiful gate. So it is a waste to change it.If you do not have such a gate, often, one sees, some aluminium gate that is "tight" more surface area so that it shields or protect the main door.Alternatively, one can invest in e.g. stainless steel plates wielded to the door on the side facing the staircase or alternatively, sometimes we see some people have a "shield" at the ankle level of their grille gate to keep out unwanted pets etc...It need not necessarily be stainless steel (although stainless steel acts like a mirror (reflecting-off) the sha qi. Alternative are grille gates made of matt but as I mentioned above, covers quite a large surface area of the main door. I hope you have seen some of these around.Hmm.. your dining/living room is quite an "interior" decoration challenge since the shape is not say very common, layout plan. (Especially with regards to the location of the usual TV/hi fi area. (Although, there is still sufficient wall-real-estate space for such placement).Hope you don't mind also: Under Shapes and Forms Feng Shui, (if possible/or feasible) - to avoid having the dining table - seen from the main door. This is based on the category of "commonsense approach" to Feng Shui where, ideally, more often, many homes have often items on the dining table. For example, husband not returned from work as yet, or food / bread etc.. lying on the table. And "visitors" have a first impression - looking at our dining table.Warmest Regards,Cecil Quote On 2/4/2004 11:22:45 AM, Anonymous wrote:Hi,We just bought a premium5-room flat (top floor) atWoodlands Dr 75.Our flat's main door and gateis indirectly facing thecommon staircase, as well assome pipings. myfs_77111
Hi Cecil,Thanks for replying so soon! Really appreciate it. :)Yes, our main gate is actually made of wrought iron with those flowery designs that you usually see. Besides having a "shield" for the bottom portion of the gate, I heard some saying placing some sort of plant around the main gate or common staircase can also remedy the solution. Can you verify if it is true? As my husband is not receptive with the idea of having a shield. As for the dining table, we actually decided to have a water-feature wall erected separating the foyer and the dining room. So that people cannot peek while we are eating. I read somewhere saying that water should be flowing inwards to the house to bring in wealth. In our case, as it's water flowing down between 2 glass panels (like those you see in shops like a waterfall wall thing, only difference is that you won't be able to touch the water as the water is enclosed between the glass panels), I can't really tell whether water is flowing into the house or the opposite direction. Thanks again!
