myfs_79181
14 February 2004With the dawning of Period 8 I become more and more worried about my new terrace house as to whether it is considered a Period 8 house or it remains to be a Period 7 house. I signed the Sales and Purchase Agreement on September 8, 2001, and the house was completed on December 12, 2002. I then left the house vacant until December 2, 2003, to start the necessary renovation on the front and back portion of the house. The heavy knocking and reconstructing the certain parts of the house was fully completed on January 30, 2004. Now I?m waiting for the interior designer to furnish the whole house and that is supposed to be completely done by April 2, 2004. I expect to move in around late April 2004.All that time and that is from the date of December 17, 2002, that I took the keys to my new house till even now I have not occupied the house. A period of more than 1 year and 75 days till today and I still cannot occupy the house until the interior designer has carried out what has to be done. Thus, I need to your advice on the exact period of my new house. I tried to make it into a Period 8 house and that is why I waited till December 2, 2003, to start the renovations to it. And because of the 2004 Chinese New Year the workers rush to complete the necessary works by January 30, 2004. They are not willing to drag it till after February 4, 2004. My question remains to be whether my house is a Period 8 or 7 house. The more I tried to figure it out the more confused I become. Please let me have your kind advice.Thanks.Sincerely yours,Eddie Yeoh Cheng Teik
Staff Cecil Lee Posted February 15, 2004 Staff Share Posted February 15, 2004 Dear Cheng Teik,Even if heavy knocking was done prior to Feb 2004, do check the following:1. roof - is the roofing done on or after this period.2. main door? does the main door remain or will it be changed after Feb 2004.3. Is the main door or other fittings e.g. no window frame or window fitted especially at the frontage or the main door has not been fitted yet. 4. Has the kitchen being fully renovated and stove placed in?If any of the above remain uncompleted, then, it is safe to say that one's home will going to be a Period 8 home.Even if a home is a Period 7 home, it can still `fly' to Period 8 (but not the other way around). Doing some of the activities mentioned earlier in the forum.Warmest Regards,Cecil Quote On 2/15/2004 2:08:18 AM, Anonymous wrote:14 February 2004With the dawning of Period 8 Ibecome more and more worriedabout my new terrace house asto whether it is considered aPeriod 8 house or it remainsto be a Period 7 house.
