Fairly new to flying stars & e/w 8 mansion, looking for some guidance regarding my home from more experienced practitioners.
Period 5 built 1961 Li ding facing N3, I am kan born 1963.
Please see drawing and detailed notes I have made at
http://home.mindspring.com/~densvxer/home/
I just built a new patio and sun room on the sitting south side of my home and was planning to install a hot tub this spring. Seems I have found that the Grand Duke & 3 killings are located in these areas in 2004. I have already ran conduit (for power) to the south west corner of the sun room but am now more inclined to extend it install the hot tub in the south east corner of the sun room based on E/W FU WEI House F4 direction.
Or maybe I should forget the whole hot tub idea until the S or SW becomes more suitable?
quoted from CIGFS pertaining to S
Rule 1: If a good wander star (F4 wood) produces the palace (S fire), install the phase that enhances the star. This is because the palace is weakening the star. While wood is enhancing the southern fire palace, fire is weakening wood?s power. Add water to fortify wood?s strength.
Thank all for any advice in advance. Looking forward to any and all suggestion ~densvxer--Todd
PS I probably need to take some FS courses at this point but I have not found any traditional Feng Shui masters or courses here in Colorado USA. There are a number of black hat but I dont think I am interested in those types of instruction.

Dear Todd,
Congratulations! For a newbie, you did a great job in researching and constructing a Flying Star Chart.
1. Yes, given that Grand Duke is at SW this year, it is indeed a good idea to give up on placing the tub at this sector, here.
2. At South-East sector, quickly: #1 = water #2 bad earth and #4 is wood.
Quoting your research: "Lu Qi V2.3 Flying Stars of House
- Metal is the cure, as it weakens the Earth and strengthens the Water of the good star 1. Possibly Wood, which fed by Water, controls the aggressive Earth of 2. But no mobile Water, that would activate the bad star 2!"
Based on the Five elements concept:
http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-5element.htm
Yes, I would agree that metal is the cure - since it is the "unifying" or the third element that creates a flow:
earth -> metal -> water -> wood
However, based strictly on the Five elements concept:-
"But no mobile Water, that would activate the bad star 2!"
If one looks at the productive sequence of the Five elements concept:
water does not activate bad star 2.
Also under the destructive sequence of the Five elements concept:
water instead of fueling bad star 2 - in fact "draws out or decreases star 2."
Given this understanding, I feel that tub can still be at South-East sector. But for the colour of this area avoid: Fire (Red, pink or purple) since it can fuel bad 2. Or avoid Earth (cream, beige or yellow) as this can help increase bad earth.
Warmest Regards,
Cecil
