Updates! New & Improved Forum

Dear Users,

Welcome, to our New and Improved Free Advice Forum. We have been refining our forum in the past week to make it even more easier to us.

1. HTML Web Posting / Mailing List / Newsgroup

We have improved our web posting to allow it to be very easy to use HTML tags to make messages clearer. This makes a forum posting a HTML type message. So we have updated our Mailing List and Newsgroup subscription users to also be able to read HTML type messages. So that you can see the various formatting as if you were accessing the web forum.

2. Improved Formatting & Display

We have improved many areas of the forum display, colour scheme etc. Here are a list of notable improvements:-

• Some Graphical Icons links to replace text links.


• Clean up the columns (ie New icon merged with topic icon)


• Fun coloured Number of Views per topic with shades of blue/yellow depending on how HOT a topic is.


• Added quick navigation allowing users go to different pages (ie First page, subsequent page, Last page)


• Users can control the sort order of the topic from newest/oldest messages.


• Last 60 days added instead of this month only (which causes messages posted in the last few days to be missing when you enter into a new month. Weremoved the Today as it serves very little purpose.


• Addeda few administrative features to quickly find all unanswered messages easily.

3. Improved SQL query

This and several backend changes makes the forum more responsive and thus allowing for more flexibility in forum display layout.

4. New Forum Message Posting

We have greatly simplified the forum posting forum. All complicated options are removed or re-organised so that quickly post messages without any additional complications.

Easy HTML editor features makes it easy to add HTML tages into your messages.
