myfs_106826
I have a sword as a graduation present and I am aware of the negative aspects of displaying swords. I am also planning to have a collection of swords as I practice Iaido (Japanese martial art involving swords) and like sword replicas from the Lord of the Rings movies. 1) Are there any cures for swords that are displayed?2) is horizontal or vertical placement better?3) My study is the NW sector and I can place the sword on the SW or East wall, which is better? (door entry SE, desk faces door with degrees behind on N wall)
Staff Cecil Lee Posted October 11, 2004 Staff Share Posted October 11, 2004 Dear Chris,There are two considerations under "Feng Shui" i.e. 1. Symbolism under Shapes and Forms FS2. Commonsense approach to Feng Shui1. Under Symbolism in Feng Shui, it is considered a disadvantage to have a knife or sword hanging or placed or displayed in the living room. As this is symbolic of quarrels or disharmony.2. Under Commonsense approachJust like guns with live bullets lying in the home. This can be assessed wrongly by young children or a parent or family member who is quick tempered or used by intruders into a home.Generally, as you had mentioned, it is best to keep or display the sword in a specific room e.g. your study room. And if possible, it is kept in a display cabinet under lock and key.Frankly, hanging the sword, vertical or horizontal does not matter so long as guidelines such as mentioned under Para 2 - is suggested and applied.Warmest Regards,Cecil Quote On 10/11/2004 4:58:36 AM, Anonymous wrote:I have a sword as a graduationpresent and I am aware of thenegative aspects of displayingswords.
