myfs_104654
Dear Sir,My husband & I just bought a resale house. Main door facing is North, from center of the house, facing is NW. I'm a strong water and my husband is a weak Metal. North is not a good direction for us by NW is - which is why we got the house as we understand we have to take readings from centre of the house. There is a short foyer leading to our living room.We just hacked away a cabinet so now the wall facing the main door is empty. At first we thought of having a water feature, however, heard that it's not so good to have water feature facing the main door directly. Now we are thinking of having a feature wall - i.e. granite. Is this ok? Behind the wall is the master bedroom.Your advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you!Best Regards,Jeanette
Staff Cecil Lee Posted October 24, 2004 Staff Share Posted October 24, 2004 Dear Jeanette,Yes, it is preferred that a water feature does not face the main entrance. This is because, this is symbolic of wealth flowing out of the home.If you intend to install a granite wall feature, try to avoid a highly polished granite or marble wall. Since if it is reflective, it is like a mirror.Where under Feng Shui, a mirror facing a main door is not favourable since, it is considered as even before 'wealth" or qi comes into the home, it is deflected out of the home.(Under commonsense approach to Feng Shui, a highly polished granite wall -- is not favourable. Since, once we enter the home, we may --inadvertenly (while in deep thoughts) see an "image" like a stranger in the home.Where possible, the wall should have matt or dull granite (would be better).Warmest Regards,Cecil Quote On 10/24/2004 10:50:49 AM, Anonymous wrote:Dear Sir,My husband & I just boughta resale house. Staff Cecil Lee Posted April 11, 2020 Staff Share Posted April 11, 2020 If a location has Flying Stars #5 misfortune/sickness with #2 sickness (Both are bad earth element) Too much "earth" as in granite.. may not be too ideal, here. Extract of Case Study 11A: Can I simply install a mirror in my home? 1. Flying Star Feng Shui can reveal the qi within a room. 2. In this example, it is best not to install a mirror at the East = dining room wall. As there is a nasty combination of #5 misfortune/sickness with #2 sickness at this sector. 3. Ideally, mirror should also not face the main door. 4. Main door has the #3. Learn what #4 with #3 means. 5. Pity also the current prosperity double auspicious #8's are wasted at the kitchen.
