myfs_107273
Dear Master Lee:First, thank you for having a great website. I've learned a lot just by reading the questions and answers from this forum. My period 7 house has a SW2 facing (218 deg from standing outside the front door). The front door itself is in the South sector (measured from the center of the house). This year, we needto repaint the whole house (inside only) because it desperately needs it. The present color is beige. Should we keep the same color? Myhusband wants the white color, but we are both strong water and from my researching, white is the color of metal which is not good for both of us. Am I correct here?Next, we need to replace the kitchen countertop sincethe formica has a big burnin it. A few windows in the house need tobe fixed also. Will allthese renovations (new paint, new countertop, window fixing) change the house to period 8?(PS: should we change our house to period8)Thank you very much in advance for your advice.Rose
Staff Cecil Lee Posted November 5, 2004 Staff Share Posted November 5, 2004 Dear Rose,1. Firstly, although white is associated with the metal element, generally, it is a very safe colour to paint, since it is also a neutral colour for the home. (Even though both of you are considered as a strong water person - it is ok).2. Traditionally, therefore, white is a neutral and pleasant color.3. In general, under period 8, pastel shades of earth colors like beige is usually a better option since it is the "color" of Period 8.4. So, in general both colors are acceptable.5. In order to fly to period 8, one may have to remove a portion of the roof or change some of the roof-tiles of the home. In an apartment, symbolically one change to period 8, by repainting the entire ceiling of the home at one go. Plus, in addition, one should have "yang" activity such as a celebration to help to fly into the new period.6. Changing the kitchen cabinet top alone cannot fly to period 8, since this is not considered as a major renovation. But a combination of what I mentioned in the earlier paragraph - Paragraph 5 above) can change the home to period 8.Warmest Regards,Cecil Quote On 10/27/2004 8:33:07 PM, Anonymous wrote:Dear Master Lee:First, thank you for having agreat website.
