Dear Karen,

The problem with auspicious and inauspicious number is that there are many many different ways at looking at it.

For example, 4 in cantonese sounds like Die, but 4 is used in like 4 leave clover to represent good luck. So auspicious numbers to different people may mean differently. Some people like 4 others hate it. It is really subjective.

In terms of feng shui one way of checking if any large number is good or not is to convert it to a single digit.

ie 39 = 3+9 = 12 = 1+2 = 3. If 3 is an auspicious gua number for you, then it should be fine.

ie 44 = 4+4 = 8. If 8 is an auspicious gua number for you, then it is fine.

Or it represents the current flying star period ie period 8 it is also good. But as mentioned there are numerous ways at looking at it. most people will not want 44 because it is like Die and Die.

But often, the most important is not the number of the house, but rather the feng shui of the house itself.

Hope that helps.

Warmest Regards
Robert Lee
