Dear Catherine,

Generally, whether or not a date is auspicious or inauspicious depends on lots of factors.

In terms of ba zi, luck is always changing every 10-year, 5-year, yearly, 6-monthly, monthly, daily and hourly. So each person's luck is different from day to day. It is very difficult to tell you for sure which day would be good or bad for you.

That is where the general tung shu comes in. Every year, analysis is done to generally tell you when which day is aupicious or not. So most likely what you have read from comes from something similiar.

A lot of this also depends on how supertitious and how much you believe. To me anyway, Weddings is joyous occasion. Usually, there shouldn't be a problem if you wish to attend your friends/relative wedding. Night Wakes / Funeral on the other hand may arouse more chinese supertition, as such you might want to take extra caution.

However, as a general note, it is always good to always enhance yourself so that you can reduce any inauspicious influence. This is by knowing what element you are and thus, having more favourable elements to improve our luck.

Second advice here is that you can always check on the personalised auspicious date analysis of yourself, to see if this is a good date. If not you can always avoid it.

Hope that helps.

Warmest Regards
Robert Lee
