They did thesamefor last year and it seem to make last year a lousy year for me & my husband. This year, same banner again. Is there a way to ward off this "redness" ?Thanks. Staff Cecil Lee Posted February 2, 2005 Staff Share Posted February 2, 2005 Dear Anon,To Chinese, the red banner symbolises good luck.Actually, the best "counter" is (for the Chinese) is also hang a similar red banner on your front door. There is no religious implication especially if it is a plain read cloth (no issue with the elaborate tassle).Ideally, both parties hanging it - will equate to "square-one".Under the destructive cycle of the Five elements concept: the most effective element to control fire is water e.g. blue, black or grey. But it would be inauspiciousto haveespecially black coloured e.g. carpet matetc.... But blue carpet can be considered.Under the productive cycle of the Five elements another element that can help draw or diminish Fire element is the earth element such as : Yellow, cream or beige (especially Yellow)Warmest Regards,Cecil Quote On 2/2/2005 10:54:12 AM, Anonymous wrote:Dear master, myneighbouroppositehas hung a redbanner for the chinese newyear period.
