myfs_109092
Hi Master Cecil, In your previous mails, you have suggested a combination of 6 gold and 1 black is good. I actually prefer tohave a couple more little fishes. Can I actually add 9 more little tiny black fishes to the existing 6 gold + 1 black and still ok ? is 9+7 = 16 = 1+ 6 = 7 the way to maintain fish counts for feng shui purposes ? Thank you very much and Happy Chinese New Year to you.
Staff Cecil Lee Posted February 20, 2023 Staff Share Posted February 20, 2023 Dear Alex, 1. In fact, if one does a research or a key SEARCH in this forum (even as far back as 1999), there are lots of resources on the topic of fish tank or keeping fishes. 2. Please click this link to have a better understanding of fish tank & keeping fishes from a Feng Shui perspective:- http://www.geomancy.net/resources/art/arowanafish.htm 3. It is good to review Q2 in the above hyperlink to understand the real relationship between the Five Elements Concept to a water position i.e. be it a fish tank or a water feature. 4. Key extracts from the above article are as follows:- " ...We can introduce the following elements:" 5. Please also see the illustration of a Five element water feature to understand the type of element associated with the water feature. 6. For a fish tank also, one should also introduce all five elements into it:- 7. For example, it is always recommended to use: a rectangular fish tank = earth element goldfish/ angle fish= gold element water in the tank = water element fire in the tank = either red fishes or lights in the fish tank wood in the tank = use either a decorative scenery piece stuck to the back of the tank or some plants in the fish tank 8. In fact, if one has all Five elements, this is considered as a very good balance of all five elements. 9. Besides the above, which is often considered as a "Hobbist" fish tank. Often a hobbist loves their fishes and would often create a very nice looking scenery in the tank. And in fact, such a hobbist would automatically have all the five elements in his/her fish tank. 10. FISH TANK USED AS A CURE / ENHANCEMENT 10.1 As one can see, the purpose of you having a fish tank has to do more of a hobbist or a lover of fishes. 10.2 In Feng Shui, a fish tank is often used as a cure or enhancement. But often better results for enhancing wealth is by the use of a water feature instead of a fish tank because it has more vibrant qi. Thus overall, mostly it is used a cure. 10.3 Poison arrow 10.3.1 If there is a lone lamp post slicing thru a window of a home: In Taiwan, often the cure is to place a plant to shield this sha qi. This is because most likely, homes are landed property. 10.4 FENG SHUI CURE FOR PROBLEM SHAPES AND FORMS FENG SHUI 10.4.1 In Hong Kong however, a fish tank is often used to neutralise this lone lamp post:- 10.4.2 The rationale is to make or apply the Five elements concept:- Where the poison arrow is a lone lamp post. And under the Five elements concept this tall thin lamp post even if it is made of metal or wood is considered as a "wood" element. Much like a tall thin tree. Thus to neutralise this bad wood element, a fish tank is often introduced by a Feng Shui master:- Poison arrow = bad wood element A fish tank has :- water in the tank = water element goldfish = metal element light in the tank or red coloured fishes = fire element rectangle fish tank = earth element. Thus, together with the bad wood, all the other four elements in the fish tank will combine to form a harmonious five element flow. 10.5 FENG SHUI ENHANCEMENTS/CURES RELATED TO THE FLYING STAR FENG SHUI Under Flying Star Feng Shui, one will hear of enhancements such as:- 7 gold fishes with 1 black Here 7 represents weak metal element and 1 black fish represents the metal element. Thus if a frontage has a very auspicious double 8's , the introduction of metal with water combination fishes is very auspicious for this sector. Alternatively, 6 gold fishes with 1 black is similar to the above. Other than 6 is strong metal with 1 representing water element.
