Trigram advice vs. chinese horoscope and element a

Hi,

I got a "personal consultation" from a very popular uk feng shui website but they left me more confused than I started. I am a Li trigram and they did an analysis stating among other things certain colours that benefit me. I am also a fire sheep and their analysis was almost opposite. Which should I go by?

Also, is flying star analysis the best way to practice feng shui? Thank you.

Dear Olivia,

You have to know what each theory is good for, then you will be able to know which concepts are rank at what kind of position.

1. In terms of personal element, you should be using the Ba Zi as this gives you the best and most accurate analysis of your element based on your date and time of birth. Thus, favourable or unfavourable colours will be best derived from this.

2. Trigram or Eight House uses only year of birth (ie 1985), so this analysis is less accurate. But it has is practical uses when you apply the 4 good and 4 bad directions. This, is very useful in determining whether your house is suitable or whether a certain bedroom is suitable to you or not. However, I will not use this Gua (Kua) element as your birth element, due to the year of birth analysis only.

3. Chinese Horoscope is more for fun or just understanding what kind of characteristics a person might have. Some parts of this analysis is already found in the Ba Zi under the Earthly Branches. As such if you do a Ba Zi analysis, you will not need to worry about this Chinese Horosope. In our website, you will see that we focus on Ba Zi and not Chinese Horoscope. Most people will often consider Chinese Horoscope just more for fun, as well as compatibility between one and another.

I would say, if you make use of the various free reports on our website, you will not gowrong. This is because, these are the best and most effective analysis available for anyone to make use.

No. Flying Star alone isn't the way to practice Feng Shui. You must remember that Flying Star is only one of the more advanced form of the Compass School.

Under Feng Shui, Compass School is divided into Eight House concept and flying star. These uses numerology to help determine certain earthly influence of the house. Just using this method isn't enough for feng shui.

1. Eight House is used to check if a home is suitable to a person or not.

2. Flying Star is check if the house feng shui is good or not.

However, other aspects to check are also whether the external and interal environment has any flaws or not, this is the Shapes and Form concept.

Next, even if you have found the best home, you need to know how you can harmonise with your environment, and this will depend on how you personalise yourself to the environment. This is where understanding your Heaven Luck (Ba Zi) is important.

So in order to practise feng shui, you need to understand and apply everything. One cannot just eat and sleep on just Flying Star and ignore everything else.

Thanks very much for your reply. I am quite impressed with how thorough you were on your explanation as I had no idea that you have to integrate all those approach to get an accurate reading...No wonder many things did not make sense to me!
