Hi Master Lee,

whenselecting an auspicious date for wedding, will it make a differenceif weuse only the chinese horoscope (sheng xiao) of the wedding couple andtheir parents? i.e. the date & time of birth of the wedding couple are not considered. Does it mean that a date that's auspicious forparticularchinese horoscopes will be auspicious for whoever persons with those same horoscopes?

Also, is there a need to consider the chinese horoscope of the wedding couple's siblings as well?

Thanks!

Yes, if you just use horoscope then you will be defined as Horse, Pig etc. Given that all person born in the same year will be the sameanimal sign, thus the animal signs which you clash with will be the same for all person born in the year. That is why we prefer to use ba zi.

Ba Zi breaks down each animal sign further into weak/strong wood Horse for example. Thus, providing a more accurate analysis. Ba Zican clash between ba zi day/month/year pillar with the date. This gives you a more accurate analysis. As even the year isn't auspicious, you will noticed that there will be less auspicious date available within that year.

Thus, we do not just use the horoscope to analyse whether a date is good or not. At most, this is applied for hour analysis, as there isn't much hour to choose from if you go to detail in the hourly analyiss.

Detailed analysis is only needed between the bride and groom. As with that analysis alone, you will find that there are already very few dates which will be suitable to both and does not clash under the tong shu event.

The only thing that we usually check for is for the parents and parent-in-laws especially to see how to boost the luck for each of the family members. You can check your siblings if you wish to, but often the most important is the parents and parent-in-laws.

Hope that helps.

Warmest Regards
