I used the free calculator on the site and it said I'm a weak metal.

Another person also calculated for me and said that I am weak metal. However he also said that since I am born in Singapore which is very hot throughout the year, I should favor water element. In the free report however, it says that water element is destructive for me?

So, in calculating birth element and determining favorable elements, should the birth location (Singapore in my case) be also taken into consideration?

Five element should be considered under these two scenario:-

1. as a Weak Metal, it means that you generally lack Earth and Metal, thus you are weak. Water and Fire are generally unfavourable for you because they make you weaker. While Wood is your wealth but as a weak metal you are not effectively able to control it. Thus, wood is also not very favourable for you unless you have more Earth and Metal to make you strong.

This is always the basic level of application of the five element.

2. A more detailed or to fine tune your element would be to make use of the balance of five element. A person ideally should have exactly 20% of each of each of your five element. This is where you can get say 10% of Earth, 20% of Metal etc. The elements you have the least in terms of your ba zi is the element you need more.

For example if you are a weak Metal, and you have 10% Earth and 20% Metal, it means you need to have more Earth then compared to Metal. Same goes for the other unfavourable element. There will be one element you have too much of and thus that should be the element you should avoid most.

3. I personally do not believe in altering the existing ba zi analysis to suit a location as these are never considered in most major ba zi analysis. Also, it also do mean that you entirely break the essences of how the five element balances and seasons of the birth based on the original ba zi principles. That would be like saying that everyone born in Singapore must have water element?

Hope helps.

Warmest Regards
