Dear Master,

My element is strong metal and my bedroom is located on the east. I've looked around on the forum and found out that having a bedroom facing the top of the staircase is not favourable. From what I understand, stairs facing theentrance door is unfavourable because itmay lead to money loss, but whataffect wouldstairs facing a bedroom door have on the person?

As for the cures of this feng shui problem, you suggested keeping the door closed, which I plan to do. You also mentioned placing a plant somewhere near the staircase. Where should I place the plant? There is a small landing before the staircase continues down to the main floor. I was thinking of putting it there or right next to mybedroom door.

Thank you very much for your time, I really appreciate your advice!

Dear Anon,

1. Yes, it is preferred that the bedroom door is closed.

2. A plant may not be appropriate especially if the staircase is not large but just nice for one or two persons to walk past.

3. You can also try to use the Eight House chart to see if you can plan your bedroom i.e. to orientate your bed-head and work/study to a good facing direction.

Warmest Regards,
Cecil
