Dear Master Lee,

My brother's bedroom door is facing opposite the toilet door. Although its not facing exactly but about half of the toilet door is facing his room. I can see part of the toilet bowl from his room. I heard that in this case, the person sleeping in the bedroomwon't be having a smoothrelationship with his or her partner. In chinese, it is call "Lan Tao Hua". Is that true?

Whatshould i doin order tohelp my brother?

Thanks a million! Smile

Dear Anon,

1. There are two "angles" to look at the case where often, from the master-bedroom, we may see the toilet (toilet bowl).

2. In many apartments; be it a condominium or an HDB (government housing development board apartment or flat); in fact all master bedrooms have a detached-toilet. In some instances, we do not get to see the toilet as it may be closer to the bedroom door.

3. As mentioned under Para 1; there are two ways of looking at the "issue" or non-issue with the toilet:-

4. From a Shapes and Form point of view

4a. As you have mentioned, some people may feel uncomfortable seeing the toilet (toilet bowl) from their master-bed. Frankly, there is not much choice, here. Other than to close the toilet door. Or some clients built a walk-in-wardrope and include the toilet within it. Thus, roughly it is like out-of-sight out-of-mind.

4b. What is it that make us feel that toilet qi is bad?

5. Many of us read Feng Shui books and all books will often say that the qi coming out of the toilet is "bad".

6. Realistically speaking; this is more of a "commonsense" than Feng Shui.

7. For example, in many of the past messages that I had posted on this subject; I had mentiond this situation: I was driving on the highway and on the radio, there was an interview with someone selling a product.

8. The person who was interviewed mentioned that whenever we flush our toilet bowl, "germs" e.g. e-coli and other germs would be deposited especially on our tooth-brush! And he "insists" that all of us should consider buying"his product"i.e. a dis-infection tablet to frequently clean our tooth-brush. Much like the dis-infection tablet or cleaning tablet for those using dentures!

9. Although, technically, he is correct. But, look at it this way.. many of us...from birth to adult life have always used a tooth brush. And had never really dis-infect our tooth brush on a regular basis! Furthermore, many use their tooth-brush close to 3 months or more!

10. Have we or majority of us... fall sick because of this??

11. It is because of such a "commonsense" reason; that is why toilet is considered as having not good qi.

12. Imagine, if we cannot tolerate or have some resistance to "dirt" from our own toilet. Manyofpublic toilets are even more filthy or dirt then our toilet!

13. In this sample layout plan: The Coris(Singapore Housing Development Board flats); many of the layouts are similar - please see attachment. And if wecan imagine, the toiletcan be virtually facing the master bed!

14. We live a practical world! Andoften, toilets are literally "fixed" especially in apartments where they are joined together from 1st to higher floors.. so cannot be relocated.

15. From aFlying Star Feng Shui point of view:

Hopefully, the toilet does not occupy a good sector e.g. current prosperity sectors #8etc...

Warmest Regards,
Cecil
