Hi Mr Lee,

I have read up some article on feng shui that it is not advisable to keep aquarium in the bedroom and I am currently keeping 5 fighting fishes as pet. I have remove it and place it at my kitchen near my washing machine now. They are all housed in small jars with no pump and running water and thus the aquarium is a still water condition. Would they affect my house feng shui? Thank you.

If you like it, there is no harm keeping fishes as pets.

The only issue, is that such water feature especially large aquarium should not be keep in the bedroom. The reason is rather logical also, you see water in the fish tank tends to give off certain fishy/chlorine smell which may affect the quality of the air in the bedroom. Just like if you put plants in the bedroom, it also fights for oxygen at night. That is why big fish tank/water feature should not be placed in the bedroom.

Onesmall bowl type fish bowl type, should not be a major issue as it is unlikely to affect thewhole room. But too many will not be a good idea best tobe placedin other areasthat is notused as bedroom.

Generally, small indivial bowls of water typeprobably not big enoughto be considered amajor water feature. So not likely to affect your feng shui. However, if you are concerned, try to placed the individual bowls at section of the housethat will benefit from a water feature such as where there is the auspicious water star 8 if in period 8 house.

Hope that helps.

Warmest Regards
Robert Lee
