Staff Robert Lee Posted January 23, 2007 Staff Share Posted January 23, 2007 Dear Kat Kanz, kat kanz wrote:IfI live in the south hemisphere( Peru- South America) and I`m using a compass to apply the 9 Stars Method, Polar Star, etc then how it will affect Feng Shui since we have opposite weather, time, location, etc. All my books come from Europe and Usa, so I`m not sure if the information is valid in Lima-Peru.A few traditional Feng Shui Masters have stated their views that there should not be any changes with respect to people living in the South Hemisphere. We also believe there is really no need to make any special alternation to the feng shui analysis. Actually, the seasons in the South is still the same as in the North. Only difference it that it is more like it is there is a time lag of6 months apart. For example, in the Northern hemisphere, the Winter is in Dec. But in the South the winter comes only in Jun.So the fundamental of the five element principle remains the same because it is not like the seasons are reversed or anything. It is stillSping - Quote Summer -Autumn -Winter. It is not like the Southern hemisphere encounters a reverse in the seasons. But more like it is delayed by 6 months.URL: http://csep10.phys.utk.edu/astr161/lect/time/seasons.html So the fundamentals in the five element and seasons will still remain the same. Furthermore, the purpose of like the ba zi to determine the luck of a person, is actually more to determine the balance of the person (how weak or strong he/she is ie weak water, neutral water or strong water). Ultimately, the analysis is will balance itself of because of the way the five element and yin and yang concept was formed. So really, any feng shui analysis is simply to make sense and attempt to relate all the information together.Fother other viewpoints, you can read links from this page:URL: http://www.geomancy.net/resources/art/art-addsites.htmWarmest RegardsRobert LeeGEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research
