What is the impact of living near a mosque on the feng shui of a house?

My house sitting SW & facing NE, but near to a MOSQUE (about 0.5km), is it bad feng shui or bad Chi for a house if near to Mosque? (Main door not facing the mosque). What are the ways to cures?

1. In general, most individuals prefer to steer clear of purchasing a property in close proximity to a Mosque or Temple due to potential noise disturbances and the presence of a large number of visitors.

2. Temples may engage in rituals that can result in uncleanliness as well. It is particularly undesirable if the Mosque is visible, especially if its roof obstructs the view from your home. In such cases, certain remedies may be necessary, ranging from the use of bagua to a simple day curtain to block the sight.

3. Even if the Mosque is not visible from your residence, it can still impact the future resale value of the property.

Unfortunately, there may not be much that can be done in this regard.

Hope that helps.

Warmest Regards

These are some considerations:

1. The mosque, Masjid Darul Aman, translates to Peaceful House in Malay. Stack #17 is located a considerable distance away, facing the main road and MRT station. Additionally, stack #17 is positioned adjacent to the entrance of the current showroom.

2. Naturally, it is logical to note that the main road consists of at least 4 lanes and a side parking line.

3. Additionally, stack 17 often overlooks an empty plot of land and part of the car park entrance. Many Chinese religious events take place on this plot of land throughout the year, resulting in occasional noise and the burning of incense.

4. Occasionally, a small circus sets up on the plot of land.

5. It is logical to expect noise from the elevated MRT track. Hopefully, measures will be taken to reduce the noise from the MRT trains.

6. It is worth noting that this unit faces the Eunos MRT station, which means there may be increased noise from the braking of the MRT trains as they slow down to the station. This braking noise is louder than the sound of the trains traveling continuously on the track.

7. Another factor to consider is the buses in the area. For instance, Bus 13, 150, and 155 stop at the Eunos/Interchange bus stop before traveling along three lanes towards stack 17 and then turning towards Still Road. This can result in significant noise at times.

These are some considerations:

1. The mosque: Masjid Darul Aman actually means Peaceful house in Malay.  No, Stack #17 is quite a distance away and facing the main road and MRT station. Furthermore, stack #17 is currently "beside" the entrance of the present showroom.

2. Of course, it is pure common sense : it is a main road with at least 4 lanes and a side parking line.

1165389047_PARCESTAEXTERNALa.gif.be45cd07d995ff8c70288de98b1827e5.gif

3. Furthermore, stack 17 often faces a vacant plot of land and partial of the entrance of the car-park. Often throughout the year, many Chinese religious activities are held on that vacant plot of land. Thus often there is a bit of noise, there and then. Sometimes also incense are burnt at these grounds.

4. On some occasions, there is also a mini circus on the plot of land.

5. Common sense : a raised MRT track. Hopefully, nowadays, they may add sound barrier and the MRT trains are suppose to be making less noise.

6. Common sense: is that bad news is that as this unit faces the Eunos MRT station. Expect more noise from the braking of the MRT trains as it has to slow down to the station. This braking sound is unfortunately much noisy that just trains travelling on the track.

7. Another consideration are buses plying the area. For example Bus 13, 150 and 155 will first pick up and drop passengers at the Eunos/Interchange bus stop. Then coast three lanes towards stack 17 side and then turn towards Still road. Quite noisy at times...

Thank you Master Lee for your detailed advice. ?

PLOT A

Stack #17 may frequently observe religious activities, including the presence of large joss sticks and burning incense near the car park area.

Today on April 1st, 2019: Adjacent to the car park, there is a sizable religious gazebo tent.

This location should be easily visible to stack #17.

PLOT B

This location is an additional area where sizable tents are erected.

In the previous year's Chinese 7th month, Chinese Wayangs were also featured.

The focus is less on this area, as only Block 914 and a few stacks need to turn to their left to have a view of Plot B.

HDB BLOCK 844 is the most impacted by the activities at Plot B.

Dear Mr Lee,

I'm looking at buying a unit at Hillsgrove cluster house. This cluster is surrounded by church (Bethesda Serangoon Church), temples (Tou Mu Kung, Hougang Tao Mu, Jui Huang Da Ti) and mosque (Masjid Haji Yusoff.

Is it a bad choice?  Anyway to enhance the fengshui?

Thanks!

1. In my opinion, besides the temple, church and mosque, it is good that the cluster housing is not on the side facing Upper Serangoon Road.

1149337578_Hillsgrovezoomin.png.77d8f67acf8f15e763c0338fe5d63b59.png

2. In my opinion, the Masjid Haji Yusoff mosque is on the other side of Hillside Drive. Thus is the least concerned for this cluster housing.

3. It is still preferred not to consider 5E or 5F Hillsgrove. While 5D is not perfect but acceptable.

Hillsgrove.png.d53fdb00c1f6f201b2ae5927157863b4.png

4. Hillsgrove resides on the oldest part of near down-stream of Upper Serangoon Road with Upper Serangoon Shopping Centre being one of the oldest plus the surround shops.

5. Generally, the rest of the cluster housing at Hillsgrove either faces NW (more favourable to the west group breadwinner). While the houses facing towards SE (Upper Serangoon Road - side).

6. Other than the three houses mentioned under Para. 3 above, the rest should not be a problem especially in terms of Shapes and Forms Feng Shui.

The matter is quite subjective.

The impact may vary from one individual to another - from seasoned Feng Shui Masters to the preferences of a potential home buyer.

In general, as long as the house is not directly adjacent to it, at least two plots away, or facing it directly from the front or back, the situation is much more acceptable.

P.S. We should be grateful that this is not the time period leading up to the early 1970s. Otherwise, prayers would be broadcasted by both mosques multiple times a day.

In the past, if someone were to reside close to (not necessarily right beside, but in close proximity to) one of these mosques, they would have to "endure" the loud prayers being broadcasted six (6) times a day!

Fajr - 6:03 AM.
Sunrise - 7:12 AM.
Dhuhr - 1:15 PM.
Asr - 4:23 PM.
Maghrib - 7:18 PM.
Isha - 8:22 PM.

Dear Mr Lee,

I'm looking at buying a unit at Whampoa Dew, 78 Lorong Limau... but the living room/bedroom windows are facing a mosque (Masjid Hajjah Rahimabi Kebun Limau) 400m Northwest next to St. Michael Bus Terminal. In addition, from afar (north bearing about 1.5km), the windows catches a glimpse of  Lian Shan Shuang Lin Monastery. Is it advisable to buy this unit?

The small bus terminal is directly opposite the circle.

The mosque is not two units away from the circle in a straight line. If you are referring to one of them.

Also, the SSL Monastery.

When in doubt, it is better to skip, especially when it comes to stigmas that may cause issues.

Unfortunately, stigmas are hard to get rid of, whether they are self-imposed or imposed by others, and they can have a negative impact on a person's luck.

Hi Master Lee,

Considering a house block 700A, right beside mosque. Living room I directly facing the roof of the mosque (tip only). What is your advice for this ?

IMG_5998.png

Sample Illustration Showing Unit #04 is the only one impacted by Sha Qi or Poison Arrow from the mosque spine emblem.

1. This simple illustration:-

image.png.0ee6f7b73199eea8c73a532717a564e1.png

2. Even if standing at the windows of unit #02, #03 may be able to catch a glimpse of the mosque's spine; fortunately, they are not impacted by it.

3. In the illustration, it is clear that unit #04 is situated at the same level as the mosque's spine. Therefore, this unit is considered to be affected by the spine.

4. It would be more challenging if the spine directly faces or is tangent to the living room windows - a difficult situation to remedy, as it would fully block the windows.

5. It would be simpler to address if the spine faces a bedroom window. For instance, a "permanent" day curtain could be installed and drawn at the bedroom window(s). The key is: "If it's not visible, it's no longer a threat."

More

Therefore, even residents inside units like #05, #06, and above can see the mosque's spine (half moon + star crest) from their windows, but they are not affected by the Sha Qi (Poison arrow) of the spine.

Unit #04

Only Unit #04 is considered to be affect by the spine (logo) or tip of the mosque
