myfs_132100
Hi,I got a list from a fengshui consultant with me but am confused abt shipping. I am in freight forwarding company and I specialize in handling car shipments. I am under the weak fire element. According to the list, I will benefit from jobs under Wood, Fire and Metal.a) Car industry belongs to the metal element. Transport belongs to Wood element but shipping which is associated with ships on sea be under WATER element (which is really bad for me)??b) I am thinking of setting up a Nail salon.Beauty line is under Water, does it mean Nail bar/salon is also under Water element?c) Is clothings, shoes and bagsboutique business good for me? Staff Cecil Lee Posted February 14, 2008 Staff Share Posted February 14, 2008 Dear Anon,The easiest way to classify is to focus on two things:1. The Industry and it's element2. Job Scope and it's element1. The Industry1.1 For example, as you have mentioned, car industry can be broadly classified as "metal" because majority e.g. especially most car's outer shell is made of steel or alluminium and majority of cars have a high percentage of metal parts. Even tempered glass, because of it's high density is considered as a metal element.1.2 Generally, the industry that BUILD's ship is also considered under the METAL industry especially for ocean or cargo or oil tankers or freight carriers. Since many of the commercial ships are made largely with steel hulls, etc... 1.3 But a specialist ship builder of some luxury private ships may contain hull made of wood and many interior designs largely of wood. With equal amount of metal. Thus, this builder can be considered as belonging to the Metal-cum-Wood industry.2. Job Scope:2.1 Since you specialize in handling car shipments, thus your KEY strengths are:2.1.1. Wood2.1.2 FireCo-ordination, planning and scheduling has much go to do with the wood element. This would be the main job scope.Partially, you may also be doing "selling or marketing" when you handle clients needs for shipping cars.3. A ship on water does not mean directly that it has to belong to the water element unless one can find a link, here. If the ship has a bar or beverage outlet selling water or drinks than the person working as a bar tender may be considered as the water element.Quote:I am thinking of setting up a Nail salon.Beauty line is under Water, does it mean Nail bar/salon is also under Water element?4. It is not wrong to consider say Beauty INDUSTRY overall under water. In some beauty industry that is selling botttled mixtures of beauty products may even be considered as Fire element as these beauty products contain specialised chemicals e.g. face whitening gel etc...5. If your MAJOR job scope in a nail salon is to create beautiful art on the fingers or "heal" the fingers nails etc.. then you can still be considered as the Wood element.6. Actually I should not be "talking" so much! GO WITH YOUR FEEL! For example, many people have started as a hobby and made it their livelyhood! For example, last year, this person, in Singapore mentioned that she started an organic store .. for "health" reasons... and so forth! If we treat our work as a hobby, work and play is so much fun! For business, one has to look at it from a business perspective! If the business model is no good, no matter how one wants to make a livelyhood.. also cannot. For example, in Singapore, several years back, some FOOLs asked me to Feng Shui their "Lohan" fish shop... I told them forget it... selling such fishes are a fad..Again, several years back, many people opened "Bubble Tea" shops in Singapore! Again, I told don't waste my time! Anyone with some capital can set up such shops. And in Singapore, there is no habit to drink such sweet and cold drinks! For those who want to start up a business, good to read up Michael Porter.. and his "Five Forces" concept... etc...Warmest Regards,CecilQuote:Anonymous wrote:Hi,I got a list from a fengshui consultant with me but am confused abt shipping.
