myfs_133058
Hi,Can the entrance of a room be any of those in ba-gua map? When determining the directions in a room, do we just read from a compass? Coz I read that in feng shui, 0deg is the south. This makes me think that I need to invert the readings of a compass.

Try not to be confused with the Chinese Luopan often used by Feng Shui practitioners where not exactly "0 degrees = south" but rather, the Chinese Luopan has a marking South-North.If you do not personally use the Chinese Luopan to take a compass reading, frankly, and for the purpose of convenience, many Feng Shui websites, books and calculators have already, properly made it easy for the lay person. Thus, for example, in this website, you can simply use any of the regular compass(es) to take a reading. Therefore "Don't invert the compass!" unless one is using a Chinese luopan! Or if a site specifically state that their compass (readings) are reversed!. Warmest Regards,Cecil P.S. Thus this sample image shows that especially for many condos in Singapore, they have a sitemap with a NORTH marking on the site plan. Merely locate one's layout plan and superimpose it on the layout plan to get the "North-South" marking. Inverting such a marking is thus wrong.
