Dear Anthi,
It is best to grow plants in a garden. In my opinion, for plants grown e.g. on the balcony, or interior of the house e.g. in an apartment/flat it would depend on the type of indoor plant. Not all outdoor or plants that require sunlight can be grown in the house.
It would therefore be nice if one has an area in the flat or apartment for natural sunlight to flow and open space especially the balcony area where rain water can at times `splash' on them.
For indoors, in my opinion, planting plants can be quite tedious if there is not enough sunligh. And one may often need to bring them out to sun.
Warmest Regards,
Cecil
